When I Started:
Sep, 2001
How I Started:
I wanted to make a lifestyle change and get in shape, but not just in shape. I always loved training and lifting. It was a way for me to organize my life and challenge myself. I also loved flexing in front of people and getting a reaction. I remember flexing in front of friends and girls and showing off how I could hold a pencil between my pecs. It was my first posedown..lol I also just wanted to be bigger.
Why I Love It:
It is a thrill and a great way to stay healthy. Its intense. I love the pump, and how I look when I am training.I dont think I will ever stop training. I always feel good after. Even after the really taxing workouts I feel good after. Tired, but good.
How I Stay Motivated:
Because you never arrive, and I am always being challenged to reach that next milestone. I have so far to go, but have come SO FAR at the same time. I have to tell myself I can do this. I get down at times, but you just have to look forward, never look back.
BB Accomplishments:
I was a finalist in the EAS BODY FOR LIFE challenge in 2002. It was my humble beginning. I then placed 8th in my first show NPC Los Angeles 2008.
I began bodybuilding after I saw Bill Phillips video Body Of Work. I entered body for life, and was a finalist. I was gaining muscle, and losing fat. It was great. It has grabbed a hold of me, and never let go since then. I love training, and the comaraderie of bodybuilding. I love the expos, and contests. Its been a wonderful journey, and I dont miss the drinking and partying of my old life. My goal is to be competitive in the NPC, and get a job in the industry after i retire from the navy.
