When I Started:
Nov, 1998
How I Started:
I got tired of being picked on and getting no attention from girls, so I decided to do something about it.
Why I Love It:
Every workout I have the opportunity to beat what I've done before, I can break a record I've set for myself, I can ascend to a higher peak. Bodybuilding tests your mind, your will, your heart, and your body. If you are lacking in any area you will not have long term success.
How I Stay Motivated:
I know if I lose motivation, someone else out there will beat me. To be the best I can possibly be, there is no room for lack of motivation.
BB Accomplishments:
-Qualified as a Natural Pro Bodybuilder in the IFPA: http://www.ifpa.us & in the NGA: http://www.nationalgym.com -Featured in the USA Muscle DVD "Prime Cuts Volume One" in 2004. -Articles have appeared in Muscular Development, FitnessRX, Fitness & Physique, Planet Muscle, & Natural Bodybuilding and Fitness. -Inside the Life of a Pro Natural Bodybuilder webcast -Released a top selling DVD "Layne Norton Unleashed"

You have accomplished so much. Keep up the hard work and intense focus. You should be proud of yourself. Have you ever known anyone who had nerve damage in a pectoral muscle where only half the muscle flexed?? I also have Parasthesia..Pins and needles in it...

I can't seem to gain any more size on my arms. Do you recommend resting for shorter periods of time (about a minute) between sets to greater the intensity?

hey layne I recently read one of your articles about consuming protein during a wokrout i posted it as a blog one time, and alot people said "no its pointless" you will just turn it into glucose but at the same time, brands make bcaa and amino acids powder to consume during a work out whats your opinion on it? do you consume protein during a workout? -Alex
