I am going for weight and strength right now. I have been about 12 lbs heavier than I am now but had a lot more fat. I am trying to keep my fat gain minimal cause I need to improve my conditioning, I can tell that is what will kill me in events right now.

How would you go about cycles? For example, week 1 do a 3rm, week 2 do a 2rm, etc...I am having trouble finding a good cycle to maximize my poundages.

Its awesome to see you guys on here. I saw something about holding a strongman comp there. Any suggestions for a hopeful future strongman? My rep scheme for the big lifts is 5x5 the first week, then 2rm, then 1rm, then timed sets like in the comps. Any feedback?

What do you do for your rep progression? I did 5x5 last week, this week was planning on a 2rm, next 1rm, then a week of timed sets to mimic strongman competition events. What is your cycle on the big lifts?

Thanks..I have switched to all basics right now. How about rep scheme. I did 5x5 last week, was looking at maxing for 2 reps this week, then 1rm the next week and doing timed sets to mimick some of the strongman competitions the next. Then I was planning on starting the cycle all over. Let me know what you think.

Understandable, I am interested in strongman style training and competing would involve both strength and endurance, just trying to figure out the best approach.

How is the running coming along? Any suggestions for someone who absolutely sucks at it? I don't plan to run long distances, more sprints and short distances even though my main goal is strength. I want an overall fitness.

How is your endurance strength though, as in doing bencg for 4 sets of 10? I used a program similar to that at one point and my strength definately improved, but when I went back to bodybuilding style movements I was weak.
