lifting helped get me out of a period of my life about a year ago when i was very listless, unmotivated, and basically depressed. in fact bodybuilding was probably the main thing that snapped me out of it. i went a couple times with my roommate after not being in the gym for about 2 years. it allowed me to feel like i was working toward improving myself, and see immediate results. then my mood improved, confidence improved, body improved, fitness improved, and i finally began to feel completely healthy once more mind and body. its been a soul-healing experience.
now im completely hooked and lift daily, its the time of the day when i am completely at my peak physically and mentally, i am zoned in and focused and feel completely alive. moving the weights relieves all my stress, and i cant go more than a few days without the release now. sometimes i even find myself giggling in the middle of a set. a day feels like a waste without lifting.
