When I Started:
Mar, 2007
How I Started:
Basically, like many people I started to gain weight due to less than sound nutrition. I soon became tired of the way I looked and felt so I decided to join a gym, punish the iron, and kick my @$$ back into shape.
Why I Love It:
It has just become an addiction for me. I first started out solely to lose the fat I gained and now after seeing the results and gaining muscle at such an alarming rate, I just can't stop! Lifting weight has become the best hobby I have ever picked up.
How I Stay Motivated:
Seeing results! Additionally, I read magazines and discover new routines, new exercises, new ways to put on muscle, and I also see the big names in bodybuilding like Victor Martinez and Silvio Samuel, and I say "I'll catch up to them one day..."
BB Accomplishments:
Have gained 12lbs of muscle in 9 months and my strength has significantly increased.

What tips would you give to others to help them stay motivated over the long-term?
Don't give up if you don't see results right away. It will take you about a month if you workout at least 4-5 days a week 1-2 hours at a time.

What is the most common reason that somebody gets injured while lifting?
I believe it is an overconfidence in oneself. People overestimate how much they can lift. Pay attention to your body. If you have to strain a great deal DON'T LIFT IT! Better safe than sorry.
Ladies and gentleman, I would like to bring up a controversial subject I know will make many people angry and upset. This very subject is going to provide the fuel for my workout. The very thought of it makes me disgusted and very agitated. I'm talking about ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION. Let me first...
No doubt, good to hear from you! As long as you pass the scores don't mean much....except for ranking purposes!
Here with Portland PD we don't get our scores, we just get our rank. I took the test and ranked 30th out of 1200 test takers. 339 passed the test so I'm pretty pleased with my place considering it was my first time.
Let me know how that supplement works for you!
I knew u'd do it! Keep @ it, dawg!!! Keep trainin...keep flexible (stretch as often as possible), stay motivated...My trainings going by pretty decent...started supersetting 2 weeks ago, and man...Everytime, it always seem like it's my 1st time! Gonna post a pic that have on my myspace page. Was messin wit da ladies on some D'Angelo shizz...lol.
haha, no doubt bro! Your comment was so funny I just read it to my girl!
yeah, that test is definitely harder than people think! at least you passed! now work hard in the gym and build on that foundation for the academy!
Congrats on taking the tests...feels good right!?!?!?! I'm still in the background process it's long...So was the agility test tougher or easier than you though?
I know what you mean about losing the mass, but I'm lifting to try and maintain what I have...but I typically do more than 30 mins...but it's rare that I go over 45. So I think I'll keep what I have while reducing the belly! Speed chute huh? Gangsta! I'd get one if I had a workout partner...lazy bums around here!
Thanks man. With dedication and persistence you'll definitely get that mile time back...you're a young buck! Me on the other hand I'll never be that fast...I just want to have the stamina to chase someone down and the endurance to put them in cuffs! I sure hope that I don't have to chase them further than a half mile! How many days a week you doing cardio?
No doubt. I took my agility test Jan 5th and actually had the 2nd fastest time...I'm a big dude but I played rugby and college basketball so I have the quickness. I was really stressing the test but did great, almost collapsed afterwards though! Anyways, I still do cardio 45 mins a day 5 x a week!
No doubt no doubt. So when is the written test for Fresno PD? Is it coming up? You are doing the right thing by working on your physical agility stuff sooner rather than later...
Yeah I like rap, but I like Hip Hop and R&B more...as for my favorite MC's I don't have favs, I just like styles and certain songs. As for cats that I always seem to like: Eminem, R Kelly, Jay Z, Tupac, 112, stuff like that.
Btw, that pic was taken in Manhattan in front of some wall in an alley that was the best grafitti I've ever seen. I couldn't resist!
Experiment, don't think there is a "have to" number of reps for any muscle group. Reps are totally dependent on goals. You should be able to make your abs burn in any number of reps if you make the rep hard enough. Try this take 2 seconds up and two seconds down to do a crunch, your abs will hurt in ten reps I'm sure.
Fo sho bro...still waiting to get final word on that. My background investigation just started last week and I wont' find out for about 2-3 months!!! It's a long long wait....
So you doing a lot of stairs in your training?
