I lifted as part of S&C program in HS athletics. Then, played around with it a bit in college. I really got into powerlifting in 1994 as the gym I worked out in had a team.
Why I Love It:
I like trying to achieve goals and also being regimented and self-disciplined. It's great to look and feel good!
How I Stay Motivated:
Comparing myself to where I have been and where I want to go. Seeing the great pis of people who look awesome (male and female) are very inspiring
BB Accomplishments:
3- time runner up at the Texas USPF Powerliftiing Championships in the OPEN 220 class.
Forum Signature:
You can talk all you want, but when it comes down to it you still have to lift the weight
Best Lifts (USPF- Open Division, 220 Weight Class)
Squat = 629 lbs
Bench Press = 469 lbs
Deadlift = 622 lbs

Decrease bf to single digits, maintain bench press of >400 and get my squat back to 600. finally ,increase bicep size from 17.5 to 18.
On the health related side, I'd like to form cleaner eating habits and improve flexibility.

How has bodybuilding and fitness helped and/or changed your family life?
We spend more time around the gym and thinking about fitness. My wife has "gone to the gym" for several years but she is getting more serious about it now too.
I trained biceps on Thursday and beat them to death. I usually don't do as many sets and I usually lift heavier and I usually take longer rests in between sets and I usually DON'T GET SORE!
I like the soreness. So I am going to do it again :) In case you wonder, I did preacher BB curls...
Absolutely. Better than anything on TV. Ever. Real reality always wins. Some crap you couldn't make up if you got paid to do it and mainstream TV is proof of that.
Oh, I'll be up for another hr or 2...LOL! I'm way too wound up to sleep for awhile.... :( Have a great w/o 2morrow...I'm doing a twice/day! :)
Arms/abs in the afternoon...then back/shoulders in the evening......
Have a good start to the week!
I was kidding about the intellectual part (you didn't read my blog, otherwise you would've caught on!). Not that I can't be intellectual, but I'd rather goof around :D And yes, I'd rather have well rounded glutes than a well rounded tummy, haha.
Thanks! Re: my fit status, this isn't all about bodybuilding. It's about intellect-building too ;P Have you read my latest blog? I try to be well rounded...body and mind.
I dont know the english name of the movement but i do 4 diffrent superset..with 2 or 3 diffrent movement...the 2 first is delt with sit abs exercise..and the third is trap and abs...the last one is lower part of the legs and crunch.....
Thanks for stopping by my blog. Believe it or not, my weirdo's are in the gym at 4:30AM on weekdays. I've only been there at night a handful of times and it is out there. That's why I too am up at the crack.
I can only imagine the sweat and screams of "Do it!" that goes into sculpting such muscular back. Traps and biceps and quads aren't shabby either. Keep up the posts. Jim
haha, my opinion would be that if you've tried the strong route, then rip up and see which you prefer. I know a guy who had that same dilemma, and after trying both, realised he preferred being bigger and really strong as opposed to the compromise of losing size, you never know until you try!
