Overall Goal: To lose fat, gain muscle, and (even if I never wear one ((it would be very frightening))) to look good in a speedo.

When I Started:

How I Started:
I actually started in High School back in '88 but had no clue as to what I was doing or taking. I used it to keep me in performance shape for Football in the off-season. I just started back up
permanently two years ago and I'm not gonna stop until I'm as big as a house and as tapered as an Armani suit. ( I hope that makes sense! )
Why I Love It:
I love the iron submitting to my will. After months and years... As more and more plates adorn the bar that I'm pushing, and as I get stronger I feel my waistline gets smaller and the my shirts start tearing at the shoulders. (At least that's what I imagine I hear... It's probably just my underwear ripping! )
How I Stay Motivated:
With tri- weekly measurements and fat caliper tests... They're the best tell tale sign that what I'm doing is actually working.
To lose fat, gain muscle, and (even if I never wear one ((it would be very frightening))) to look good in a speedo.
Goal (Long):
July 6th, 2009
I want to lose approx. 110 lbs. of fat in the next two years while maintaining the muscle mass I have now, and refining it.
I'm built like a powerlifter and I have been ever since my senior year of High School. I was at 317 from ages 18-20. I have lost and gained steadily until now 14 yrs. later, at the age of 34 I've topped 363. At one point, in a miserable state of dis-repair, I reached 374 for about 6 months. I realize it's an uphill battle but one I know I can accomplish.
Last year I had reached a short term goal of 20% loss of bodyweight. I had gotten to 298, and felt better than I had in years performing 25-40mins. of HIIT before Heavy Resistance Training 6 days a week using, for the most part, compounds and supersets.
Eventhough I felt fantastic I noticed some size loss and changed my approach all together. This is when I hit a plateau and instead of going back to what worked, I implented drastic changes in diet and gym time.
I then got in a benching contest with a 25 yr. old punk and destroyed my shoulders... 4.5 months and 50lbs. later here I am healed and ready to jump again !
