"Train hard, or not at all, build it bigger and leaner."
Personal Info And Background:
Real Name:
James
Sex:
Male
Age:
40
Location:
Alabama, United States
Occupation:
Sales
Personal Website:
Gym:
Gym Location:
Alabama
When I Started:
Dec, 2005
How I Started:
I was disgusted with myself. So I decided to start doing some cardio. My horrible 1 hour cardio work, 2-3 times a week grew much more pleasant and tolerable. I was soon at the gym 4-5 times a week for 2-3 hours. Mixing cardio and some weight training. Having started in winter I knew that I would be at the beach the following summer so my actual goal was to be able to take my shirt off and not be embarrassed by my white flabby chest and stomach.
Why I Love It:
At my age I feel so much better about myself physically and emotionally when I am working out. Being a single dad, with three sons, can become overwhelming and it helps me relieve my STRESS.
How I Stay Motivated:
I absolutely enjoy working out. I update my goals as I reach them, yet make them difficult enough that I have to work hard to obtain them. What started out as fat loss, has now turned into muscle gain. I do still want to loose some more fat, but I feel I can do this with continued healthy eating habits. Another way I stay motivated is that now others at the gym ask me for tips, that gives me a rush. Makes me stay focused not just on myself but also learning as much as I can to help others.
BB Accomplishments:
Not a Body Building Accomplishment but I did drop 35 pounds and went from 25% body fat to 8% in just over two years. I am no longer embarrassed to take my shirt off because I can see my abs again.

Okay, No laughing please, this was me before I put on more weight, YIKES!!! Was about 175 here, but completely out of shape.
This is me at my highest weight of 245, I will be putting a picture up of me in the same pants now, those are size 36 and as you can see my belly is hanging over,
Train hard, or not at all, build it bigger and leaner.
Goal (Long):
Now that I am at the weight and body fat that I wanted when I first started this journey, I now want to build 25 lbs. of muscle and get my body fat down to 5%.
For those who have asked to see my before pics I have finally been able to get a couple of them posted, take a look if you dare. The kids picked these out and there are a few others, but not sure about those yet.
I will let you now when the pictures are posted. Thanks for the uplifting comment. Having positive feedback and accountability to others makes me drive myself more. It sure helps you get up and push yourself knowing others are anticipating the results. Thanks for looking out.
Hi James. Your welcome for the compliments. So nice to hear back from you. Love the pic with the black shirt... Hope your day is a great day. Sounds like today is a great day for that pool too.
Just wanted to stop by and say thank you for adding me to your friend list. Thank you for your comments. I'm looking forward to posting some progress pictures by late September. Hoping for some real noticable difference. I'll let you know when they are up. Talk to you later.
Your "before" and "after" transformation is nothing short of incredible bro!!! Now I'm feeling inspired again...time to do some pushups. Oh wait, I'm at work now...maybe later.
Great progress man...great progress! The black and white torso shot is excellent. Way to lean out. And more so - way to represent 40 so well. Awesome work!
Thanks James! Pull ups are going well in terms of making steadty progress. But I have a long way to go. Still need lots of assistance getting myself up there! lol! Looking great btw. How have you been? You having any fun?
Hey man -- awesome progress! You have a great chest. It is really cool to see someone capable of being a role model for his own kids by taking care of his physique while maintaining everything else in life! Great job man -- keep up the hard work! Great tat, by the way.
