When I Started:
Jun, 2007
How I Started:
I have a very good friend who encouraged me to start lifting to gain lean body mass and to burn additional fat.
Why I Love It:
I love that I finally feel alive. After being 112 lbs over weight for 15 years... it feels good to breath and I can finally enjoy what life has to offer.
How I Stay Motivated:
It is easy... I just remember what I used to feel like simply walking up to our second floor at home. I would be out of breath and my heart rate would shoot up over 170 beats per minute. I felt lazy and watched over 10 hours of TV a day. I never left the safety of my chair. It was very sad because I have three beautiful children who deserve so much more.
BB Accomplishments:
I have lost just over 112 pounds and have gained muscle. I still have a lot of work to do.. but I am very proud of my progress thus far.
My dream is to be able to run a full marathon. I have been working so hard to build my endurance. Currently, the farthest distance I have ran in one session is 7 miles. I know that I could run more. I have only entered in a 10K race through Nike for the Lance Armstrong Foundation. I love running just as much as lifting weights. It is a double edge sword because I would like to put on more muscle.. but with all of the cardio... you keep pretty lean muscle mass.
I woke up feeling sorry for myself this morning!! I have been wanting to join the new Lifetime Fitness center, but I can't right now. I am stuck with the YMCA. It is not all bad, but they only have one power rack and only 7 treadmills. I took a tour of Lifetime, and they have over...
Congrats on the huge weight loss success!! What is your workout schedule like?? I am trying to get ideas on whether or not I should work one area or full body.
