Overall Goal: Run a half marathon by the end of the year. Hang out with my hubby running. However, balance lifting and running. (I am up to 16 miles, whoo whoo...)
Fit Status:
Time to mix running and lifting. All this marathon training is makign me uber soft, lol.. I like it though..
I started lifting weights back in High School when I played Volleyball. My brother played football and I lifted weights with him. I fell in love with it. However, as I got older I got lazy and stopped. Just recently I was motivated by the need to feel young.
Why I Love It:
I like sculpting my body and being in charge of how I look. I love all the extra energy I have and that my clothes are all loose!
How I Stay Motivated:
My friends on bodyspace have helped me. I always have to have a goal in mind. If I am not reaching for something higher I will stay stagnant.
BB Accomplishments:
Part of the Oye Body Survey, Controlled Labs 2008/2009 Calender (January), BodySpace member of the month October 2008 :)...Eating clean 7 months so far....

Goal (Long):
I need to learn to balance my clean eating while running long distances. It is a challenge to find the correct carb blend. I am most certainly "softer" than I was when bodybuilding, but it is nice to have a few of my curves back.
Weight Goal:
I want to LOSE 5 lb
Bodyfat Goal:
8%
Upcoming Contest:
2009 NPC Contra Costa Bodybuilding, Figure and Fitness Championships

I have not blogged for a while. I have so much to say, where to start.
First of all, I just have to say that I had a blast competing in my first two ever bodybuilding competitions. Kudos to all those who compete all the time. What an amazing amount of hard work and discipline that...
I am doing the Jamie Eason Card Plyo workout.
I use a deck of cards. I flip three cards and add them together to get the number of reps in each set. A's and Jokers count as 11.
I go through this set twice. It uses a whole deck of cards with the jacks included.
hey thanks! coming from you, Ms. Fitness Mortgage Broker 2009, that means something. i've been on a no rest program: one minute of 3/4 sprint cardio between all weight training sets, sometimes jumping rope, sometimes on the elliptithingy. I am out of the gym in 35 minutes every day. in a year or ten i'll get my bf% down to your level.
Have a Happy Halloween weekend!! Candy... Candy... Candy!!! Just kidding... a carmel apple will do...LOL!! Last Rugby match this weekend...bitter sweet!! I get my Saturdays back also... now what to do??
Cheers, Bryan
Hope your weekend was great!! Mine was wonderful!! We lost, however a defining play during Rugby match was our pack (8 big guys) driving the other team across their goal line to score a try. About 2000 - 2400 lbs of beef smashing into another team of equal magnitude...rugby ball in the middle of the mess...what a train wreck...LOL!! Have a great week!!! Cheers, Bryan
Hey check out my progress pic for an idea of how much mud we were playing in this weekend...LOL!! I'm lifting the guy in the middle... sort of like a jump ball with help... Cheers, Bryan
16 miles!! Over a half marathon length...good for you!!! Lets say I had a great game this weekend, a free mud bath spa treatment...total body of course ;) All served up at 40 degrees in a down pour...LOL!! I have never been so muddy in my life... still cleaning mud out of my ears...LOL!!! Lost by one try (score). How are your legs holding up?? Cheers, Bryan
Hope your week was awesome!! Looks like 42 degrees and rain predicted for tomorrow's match against Severn Rivers Rugby Football Club (RFC) in Annapolis, MD. Ugly weather, however great day for big guys like myself. The backs (skinny guys) will be slipping all over the place in the mud...LOL!! Have a great weekend!! Cheers, Bryan
How've you been? Our Rugby Match against the undefeated PAC "B" squad was excellent. We had a promising lead in the first half and lost by two conversions in the second half. Had a lot of great Rucks, Scrums, and Lineouts (Rugby terms). Very happy with strength and performance overall. How was your weekend? Hope your week is wonderful!! Cheers, Bryan
Sonya, you have done amazing work over the last year! No your legs are not too big, and your overall physique is well balanced. Now you are taking up the half-marathon too! Luv to see my peers showing the world that 40+ is when we just get roll'n. Keep up the fantastic work!
Hey I just recently returned from the "Olympia Week" look for my series of Blogs about my experiances (Coming Soon) in the mean time check out my Blog "A Suit of Armor made of Muscle!" and have a Great weekend!
Hey, Sonya. That dynamite smile is one big motivator. Keep up the great training...you'll likely bounce up to tri-athlete after the half-marathon. Have a wonderful day.
I took the overall title at our WPF Provincials over the weekend. Pics are up. You can have a look and let me know what you think. I weighed in rock hard at 224.4lbs.
