Background

When I Started: Apr 2007
HOW I STARTED:

I started lifting weights back in High School when I played Volleyball. My brother played football and I lifted weights with him. I fell in love with it. However, as I got older I got lazy and stopped. Just recently I was motivated by the need to feel young.

WHY I LOVE IT:

I like sculpting my body and being in charge of how I look. I love all the extra energy I have and that my clothes are all loose!

My Workout Program

I am doing the Jamie Eason Card Plyo workout.
I use a deck of cards. I flip three cards and add them together to get the number of reps in each set. A's and Jokers count as 11.

I go through this set twice. It uses a whole deck of cards with the jacks included.

Jump Squats
jumping jacks
alternating jump lunges
high knees
mountain climbers
running butt kicks
wide push ups
jumping jacks
bicylces/crunches

I started this workout because I haven't had time to go to th gym. It is easy for me to do this workout before I jump in the shower in the morning. It takes 15 - 20 minutes.

I also run a couple of miles two to three days a week. Mostly to be doing something with my husband.

The reason I started to workout and eat clean is because I helped on a photo shoot with a very beautiful and fit model. I was inspired to get back in shape. She encouraged me to build my muscle back up. She said, "Eat boring to have an exciting life".

It made since, and I have had fun doing it so far. People say if you want to look skinny hang out with fat people. I don't believe that is true. If you hang out with beautiful people not only will you feel motivated to make yourself better, they will give you advice on how you can do it.

Here comes the holidays with fudge and candy, yikes..

I have been eating clean for almost two years now.  I don't even remember what mayonnaise and ranch dressing taste like. :)  I am excited that the holidays are coming again.  I really am not that worried about all the treats. This is my second year of extreme will power.  I will most certainly cheat on Thanksgiving, and Christmas Eve, Christmas day, a little.  It is all the parties and treats that surround the holidays that take the will power.  Last year I hardly even baked.  I know that my kids weren't so happy about it.  There was so much junk all aro...

I have not blogged for a while.  I have so much to say, where to start. First of all, I just have to say that I had a blast competing in my first two ever bodybuilding competitions.  Kudos to all those who compete all the time.  What an amazing amount of hard work and discipline that took.  So many details go into preparing.  I learned a lot and took away from my competitions many areas that need work if I am to compete again.  Although it was a lot of fun and the since of accomplishment was great, it was very expensive and would take even more money to do correct...

I am packing my final show items.  I have cooked food for two days.  I am praying I don't forget anything important. I must be doing something right this week.  i started the week completely not ready for comp.  My waist was just over 27 inches.  That is a lot for me, so it shows how out of shape I was getting.  This morning it was 25 inches.  I am not sure how much actual weight I have lost, but I know it is significant.  Today is the day I water deplete.  I will be curious to see how much more weight I lose.  I am shocked and amazed that just...
