How I Started:
I've always been active but never really focused. Since my deployment to Afghanistan working out helps kill time and helps wipe away the stress
Why I Love It:
a) it gives me something to do to combat the boredom of rural Afghanistan, b) it's a challenge, c) the way it makes me feel after i've had a really tough workout and my muscles are screaming and sweat is dripping
How I Stay Motivated:
By looking forward to my goal of being in the Special Forces... SFAS in less than 5 months

Gain 10-15 pounds and increase strength by April 2010 before I go to Special Forces Assessment and Selection
Goal (Long):
My goal is to be physically prepared and have the strength and agility necessary to complete Special Forces Assessment and Selection and begin a career in the Special Forces
I hope that by gaining 15 pounds of muscle to my lanky frame by April 2010 that I can achieve these goals and not only successfully complete SFAS but also not be ashamed of being the "scrawny guy" anymore.
so today was pretty rough. we lost some guys and i'm just totally depressed. there's nothing i could have done but i always feel like this whenever we lose someone. i always feel like if i had been there maybe i could've done something. in the back of my mind i know i couldn't have...
