hmm? sounds a little funky. maybe the weights at your friends house are just different, or the bar is different. surprisingly with the right bar i can put up more. keep at it though man, tons of us have been in that position, stay motivated and get a good steady work out partner

keep workin bro, i was in the same position you were, 125 lbs at 5'9" in hs. maxing at 95 on bench

im at 145lbs benching 225 max
