I want to attain a high level of overall fitness. Body composition, strength, endurance to run 3 miles. I want to be a fit 175-185 pounds.
Goal (Long):
I want to regain and improve on the fitness level I had while in the Marine Corps. I got out in 2002 and went to college and have been yo-yoing between 180-220 pounds for the last 7years. I want to be able to run 3 miles again without feeling like i'm going to die. I've never stuck with a weight lifting program for more than 6 weeks, so sticking to a fitness lifestyle is my main goal.
Ok a little ashamed of myself. Haven't been to the gym or eating good for over 2 months. I was up to 225 pounds. Monday I got my food back under control, and started walking. Trying to decide if it's just another yo yo cycle, or if Vegas was a bad idea. Anyhoo I'll keep walking the rest of...
I saw where you said that you want the endurance to run 3 miles. In order for me to make 3 miles the first time I just set my pace really low and through determination tuffed it out. Once I had accomplished that once I knew I could do it everytime and just continued working on improving my time. Keep on keeping on.
There is a standard CrossFit warmup that looks something like this: 3 rounds 10-15 reps each of Samson Stretch, push ups, sit ups, back extension, dips, pull ups. But today I did 10 pull ups, 10 push ups, and 5 reps each of the deadlift, bench, and cleans to prepare for the workout.
