Loooong sigh.......don't know whether to be elated or depressed. The surgeon ok'd me going back to work. Four months off from work, and the gym, have had some good and bad affects on me. Good - no work for four months. Bad - I start tomorrow and am literally being thrown to the wolves, more or less. Four months off work is a long time. There have been a lot of changes and I'm expected to hit the floor running. I would have liked to have had at least an... Go to BodyBlog

Enjoyed my last physical therapy appointment for a shoulder injury suffered four months ago. Long, long trip this has been. I may have mentioned some time ago that with my concerns, coupled with the surgeon's, I have not worked since mid-February. Well let me tell you all something - it was NOT all fun and games as my co-workers suggested. Now, I am about 2.5 years from retirement. What this four months off did, was show me how important it will be for me to... Go to BodyBlog

I'm happy to report I got in my first chest/bicep workout since early February. It was nothing to brag about as I've lost a lot of strength over the past few months. Bicep workout went much easier even though I was using the same dumbbells for curls. Figures most of my lost strength is in my chest and shoulders. ... Go to BodyBlog

Well it's been one week since I had my shoulder surgery. As expected, first few days were pretty painful. Had adhesive release then removal of scar tissue and real ugly looking bone spur. It's still achy but that's what pain meds are for :) Physical therapy started Monday and I already had increased ROM in certain stretches. So for at least this upcoming week the PT will probably continue to focus on stretching before adding in weight. Can't wait to get back in the... Go to BodyBlog

Been off work now for a while for this frozen shoulder. I feel bad, almost guilty about that. But everyday, while going through normal everyday activities, I inevitably am reminded of my shoulder with a brain searing jolt of pain, temporarily relieving me of my guilt. I'm still able to get in some workouts, specifically legs and some light close grip back work. I did a lot of reading on this condition and it can sometimes take 2-3 years to get full...
