Putting on to much weight and constantly outgrowing my pants is what initially got me started. (my butt got big) I didn't realize how much weight I put on until i saw some vacation pics. It all started there.
Why I Love It:
The sport has given me pride, confidence and a lot less bodyfat. never in my wildest dreams did i ever, ever think i'd be working out, competing and personal training. i didn't know it when i started, but this whole process was a dream come true.
How I Stay Motivated:
I stay motivated mostly through competing and helping others reach their competitive goals. Plus I feel sooo much better than I did years ago.
Reaching goals - Naturally!
BB Accomplishments:
*Female Transformation of the Week Jul '07
*Over 40 BB'r of the week Feb '09
NPC Judge
My favorite accomplishment: winning the title, "Ms Cincinnati"!
After seeing this picture, I made up my mind I had to make some changes. it took me awhile to get started as I didn't know where to begin. Eventually I bought a book on weightlifting and took it from there.
This chick is the epitomy of discipline and hard work. If she could bottle that stuff and sell it she'd be a billionaire! And she still balances her love of the iron with caring for a family and enjoying life. I steal her workouts sometimes :)
On this website and on Beverly's website. My trainer has given me some pretty awesome recipes as well.

What celebrity body would you most like to have? Why?
I honestly cannot think of one celebrity's body I'd like to have. I like very defined muscles, especially in the arms/delts. Female celebrities bodies are not defined enough for my liking.

What are your secrets for making healthy food taste great?
Well now that my feel-sorry-for-self fest is over I can maybe enjoy competing tomorrow. First BB'ing show in many years. I had competed in figure all these years but it appears that all my fun time at the gym may have made me a little to muscular to continue in figure.
I'm back to my old school workouts. Lots of free weights and old school exercises.
Being a lifelong natural, it can be challenging to put on muscle but I've found out that with the right diet and some hard work in the gym, anything is possible.
Thanks so much for the words of encouragement! Yes, it's sometimes a daunting journey to try something new at this point in life, but honestly this feels like such a different headspace, I feel anticipation similarly to that which I felt when I was kid! I'm already seeing some changes - this is fun, eh?
Hey Zebra,
Good to hear from ya! Actually yes I'm doing the mash and the Cincinnati. So far those are the two I have lined up. How's your contest prep coming along?
Thank you for your kind words.
Achieved 5th in the WNBF world championships last Nov in NY. My second year and top 5 in the world 2 years in a row. Not bad.
Hope your training is going good and best of luck in your competitions.
Cheers!
Paul
p.s... sorry for the late response.
No competitions in mind yet. I was thinking of doing a competition in Vegas since I have never been there before and I have never been to a casino. I just know I want to have a great time and compete at the same time during my vacation.
