Background

When I Started: Jan 2002
HOW I STARTED:

I got into sports in high school, starting lifting to increase my strength in wrestling and track, and have not looked back since. I love to work out, if I don't do some type of lifting every day I feel horrible. Lifting weights and working out is one of the best improvements to my life that I have ever made.

WHY I LOVE IT:

The pump, the feeling of accomplishment after a tough workout, thinking of new ways to punish a muscle group, the look, respect from others-especially women. There's just something about lifting weights, so basic, so primal. I don't know what I would do if I could not lift weights anymore. There is really nothing like it. I'm kind of a dork: I'm the kind of guy that gets excited over a new Muscle and Fitness, or deciding/creating a new workout routine...I mean I get pretty psyched just thinking about Leg Day. You really don't understand how awesome or hard bodybuilding is, until you actually do it...and I'm hooked. Now I will probably never become an IFBB Pro, but doesn't mean I can't bust my ass to look like Frank Zane or Bob Paris.

This was my Leg (Quad) workout for today:
Leg Extensions: 3sets x 30-50 (warm-up)
Smith Squats: 135 x 15, 225 x 8, 275 x 5, Working: 335 x 10, 345 x 5, 345 x 3, 345 x 3
Leg Press: 540 x 15, 630 x 10, 680 x 6, 680 x 6 w/5 drops
Hack Squat: 315 x 10, x 12, x 12, x 11 w/2 drops
(2 min. rest for Squat, 1 min. for everything else)

Leg Ext. 165 x 12, 165 x 10, 165 x 10, x10 (last 2 sets with 3+ drops)

It was good.

My Motivation Program

I can never be satisfied. There is always something to aspire to, you have to "Stay Hungry." Magazines help alot, I love to read Muscle and Fitness, FLEX, MD, MUSCLEMAG, etc...various articles and photos help me persevere. Seeing progress, in lifts and in the mirror. Getting compliments from other friends/lifters/girls. When people say "that's not normal, that's sick, etc" that's what keeps me going. Watch any motivational bodybuilding videos by Zhasni (SOME ARE ON THIS PAGE) you will never need motivation again.

I haven't posted in a while and I apologize.  I'm nearing the best shape of my life.  600lb. Deadlift, 4:45 min/mile shape, conditioning is off the wall, weight is 180-185lbs.  I'm slowly waning off the running and into more bodybuilding and power-lifting as we approach the winter.  Even though Fall is the best time for Running, in my opinion.  I'm constantly learning and practicing new ways of training.  I get sick and tired of simply bodybuilding.  Don't get me wrong, I love it, but I prefer a blend of bodybuilding, power-lifting, circuit-training, runni
