Overall Goal: I want my ass to sit on top of my back!!! Oh yeah, and to gain 5 lbs of muscle and lost 5-10 lbs of fat! I wanna get ripped one day soon!!!!
Fit Status:
Great leg workout yesterday. My ass is starting to reach it's goal!!!
I think I was lifting weights in the womb. My first memory in a gym lifting was at 13 years old. I always did sports growing up: gymnastics, cross country (although I have NEVER been built like a long-distance runner!), field hockey, skiing, snowboarding, hiking, surfing.
I also have a Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Sport Science and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. I worked as a Personal Trainer and Exercise Specialist for a few years prior to become a Registered Nurse. I worked as an R.N. for 11 years, mostly in a Level 1 Trauma center in Intensive Care units. So, I do have a bit of background knowledge of the human body, but knowledge isn't everything. You actually have to get off your ass to make things happen. :) One could have all the information in the world, but if you aren't willing to put in the time and effort, what good is it?
Why I Love It:
I LOVE lifting! I love the pump and I love the way it makes me feel. I like powerlifting and how it makes me feel strong. I feel good during and after, and when I am in shape, it makes me feel & look good.
How I Stay Motivated:
Bodyspace. The fact that the best bodies on here are people in their 30's, 40's and even 50's. Yeah, 40 here I come!! And I'm going to look better than ever. I love the way it makes me feel, STRONG. One thing that makes it easy is being in such a beautiful country as Costa Rica, and living at the beach. I practically live naked!!
BB Accomplishments:
1st Place 2001 Rocky Mountain Carol Semple Fitness Medium Class
2nd Place 2001 Rocky Mountain Carol Semple Figure Medium Class
After having asthma most of my life (and living at altitude a lot), and being diagnosed in 2007 with Epstein Barr, Hashimoto's Hypothyroidism, gluten allergy, and psoriasis (all auto-immune issues), I FINALLY feel like I am living like a normal person!! Wow, what a difference it is knowing what is wrong with me and being on the right medications. To all you out there who just KNOW that something is not right, keep going until you find the right health care provider.

I want to build more muscle on my upper body, especially cap out my shoulders.
Oh yeah, and I wouldn't mind always looking 5-10 years younger than I actually am. :)

I've been slacking at the gym lately, 2 of 4 weeks spent traveling and then just got out of the habit. I've been surfing a ton lately, though so I feel great about that. Making good progress on my surfing. Yeah. HAD to go to the gym today because my neck and back...Who am I kidding? My...
I train 5-6 days per week. HARD. If I'm going to put in the time, I put it in right. No wasting time in the gym. Put on my headphones, get to work, and get out of the gym in 1 hr to 1 hr 15 min, MAX! Weights, cardio, abs, and stretching included.
Well I can imagine. I surfed all through college (at UNCW) and loved it. Then I moved inland like an idiot and miss the waves and sunny days. (Sigh) Oh the memories. ;) haha
Love the avi Sherry and you have some great gallery pics. Thanks for being a friend. Please give me a vote at www.bodybuilding.com/2010-body space-spokesmodel-search-men
