Location: Georgia, United States
Level: Amateur
Type: Men's Bodybuilding
Bodyweight: 185 lb (84.1 kg)
Place: 1
Comments: Great Comp! I won the Overall as well as Masters over 40 and 1st Place in the Open Light Heavy Division as well... It had been three months since my last competition, the Southern Isles. I learned a great deal about diet and cutting up... As a result I came in 5 pounds lighter for this show but much tighter and more defined.

Contest: Southern Isles
Date: Jun 28, 2008
Location: Georgia, United States
Level: Amateur
Type: Men's Bodybuilding
Bodyweight: 290 lb (131.8 kg)
Place: 2
Comments: This was my first competitive experiance. The show itself was very well organized from start to finish... Over-all it was an awesome time... I've never dieted for a show before... It was tough. Sticking with a low card, high protien diet for weeks on end takes its toll, but rewarding as results speak for themselves... I dieted strickly (contest style) for about one month. I was relitively low fat to start with, however, one additional month of strict dieting would have been better. I was not nearly as cut as I could have been... Also, I stopped drinking 24 hours out - way to soon for me... I starting holding water and blurring right in the middle of the morning show... I was nicely dry at about 12 hours out the night before the show then went down hill from there... Lessoned learned... Next time I'll stop with the water late at night, around 12 hours before pre-judging vs. the standard 24... To each his own... Laslty, I pride myself on being a natural competitor... Although I'm not a hater, I do however firmly believe in a drug free body building life style...
