When I Started:
Oct, 2006
How I Started:
I got started when I was deployed on my second go round in Iraq. It hit me when I challenged a Spc Stephenson to a quick arm wrestling match on the counter of our PLL office prior to our deployment, and I lost. That moment I had decided I needed to make a change in my life, especially if I was going to keep my soldiers motivated during the war, as their senior leader. I bought the supplements, read M&F, and grilled one of my Soldiers daily for advice on lifting. The real change happened with my eating habits and the discipline to go to the gym 6 days a week, for 1.5 hours a day and still do my job.
Why I Love It:
The changes my body have gone through is inspiring to me. That hour in the gym is my alone time for me, to gather thoughts and rationalize life. Since I started lifting I have become a positive role model to my Soldiers and my family. To be honest it has changed my relationship with my wife dratically but my confidence has gone through the roof.
How I Stay Motivated:
The supplements I take are a start but my real motivation comes from the thought of lifting and pushing heavy steel. I actually feel the need to go numb from lifting, feeling that concentrated body part go to failure.
BB Accomplishments:
When I started lifting in October of 2006 I could push 135 for 10 reps and I was pretty much done. currently I have a 1 rep max of 280. In Iraq the MWR has whats called the Scorpion Challenge and I entered and survived it by benching 275, deadlifting 385, and squatting 315. All that weighing a whopping 160 lbs. Then for a more professional accomplishment I maxed my physical fitness test scoring 300 points twice in one year while deployed. Yes bodybuilding has done nothing but make me better in all I do.

To maintain 170 lbs while staying within the tape measurements the Army policy describes, also to encourage my Soldiers by using myself as their motivation tool.
She has consistency and I see discipline. It makes me work harder so I can help my wife get in shape and stay fit. It helps me lead by example so my wife will stay motivated, Thank you.
This phucker runs like a gazelle (BN Co), He took the bn (600 Soldiers) for 3 miles today in 21min. The whole bn pretty much fell but of course I had to stay, in order to prove I could do it. I've been hitting the eliptical all week for 20min everyday before hitting the weights so the run...
First thanks for adding me as an inspiration and a friend. And not just for saying I look good for 40+, but for a reason that really makes a difference. There is no doubt the younger troops push themselves a whole lot harder when they have me as the boss. You have done a great job yourself and showing no signs of reaching your limits. Keep up the great work and leadership!
Besides the crappy gym we have at FOB Shank, Afghanistan... what do you eat? Our DFAC is lackluster at best! Even the "healthy" stuff is soaked in butter or grease!
It was a little crazy, they had an event at the DFAC and we all were given grape juice and proceeded to spray in everywhere when the clock struck 12. The later came a dance contest. Crazy. Happy new year by the way.

Hey Gilbert. Thank you for thinking of me. I enjoyed welcoming the New Year in with my loving wife (bodyspace name judimax) and our 2 Chihuahua’s. We had a quiet but wonderful time. I hope that you too enjoyed the end of 2008 and that you are looking forward to a great 2009. I look forward to watching your progress. Stay strong, focused and determined.
Totally out of control and off track, but I needed to unwind some. It's back to work tonight, so at least I'll start focusing again. DUDE I GAINED TOO MUCH WEIGHT!!!! Stay up man!
I am glad that you got a chance to see the episode. I really enjoyed working on the show. Thank you for taking the time to stop by and leave me a comment.
