Background
I decided being skinnyfat wasn't what I wanted. lol I started with Beachbody products and got in better shape that way. After that, I started hitting the gym to do some more heavy lifting to supplement my home workouts. I now just lift and utilize my gym.
It makes me feel like I'm accomplishing something.I feel healthier, and I like looking better.

My Workout Program
Typically I run between 1-2 miles on the days I workout.
At the moment, I don't have a dedicated cardio day. However, I plan to teach a class of something here soon at my gym and I'll get my extra cardio in that way.
I'm really not a fan of intense cardiovascular programs. They really turn me off. I find other ways to burn fat through light weighted high rep routines such a Body Pump a few times a week.
I do legs and lower back, upper back and shoulders, and then Tris and Bis all on separate days. All in sets and 8-10 reps at about 70-80% of my 1RM.
Unless I'm in the mood, I rarely sit down and do a full ab routine. Typically I'll throw in some crushes, ab machine, reaches and whatever else in between or at the end of my workout days.
Mostly I just hold my core tight while I train. I have this thing called a mommy belly that even after 4 years, I am still working off. Training my abs to become larger underneath a layer of fat is just going to make it look bigger.

Personal Training Externship
Posted in Training : May 16, 2011 12:46pmSo I've been doing classes for about a year now working towards my Associates of Science for Personal Training. Though now I am considering moving to a Bachelors in Nutrition when I complete that task.
That aside, I'm on my externship (an externship is a short term internship) for my last few credits of the program before I hit the books again.
I'm externing at a local gym that in my opinion is the best in town, and I love it there, but I'm not actually getting that much experience with trainers. I get a lot of the class trainers willing to le
...IBS
Posted in Nutrition : Apr 08, 2011 8:25amSo I'll be TMI here and say I had some bowel problems that scared me a few weeks back. I was getting bad cramps, I felt horrible, I bloated and the actual BM was like horror film quality.
So I got a fecal test, which OMG cost $800. Why? Because someone was probably pissed they had to look at my crap in a microscope.
Anyways tests come back to say I don't have butt cancer or anything horrible like that. What was it? IBS.
IBS?! You mean I randomly developed this? Apparently I did. I'm starting to think it was from eating clean then giving in
