When I Started:
2004
How I Started:
Realised how unfit and unhealthy I was and decided had to take control of my health.
Have lost 11lbs (5kgs) since working out, feel fit and have much more energy.
I work out at least 3 times a week, on alternate days.
Why I Love It:
I enjoy pushing myself as far as I can, within reason. I'm not a fan of cardio, however realise its essential to burn fat. I most enjoy the machines and weights and the buzz after an intense workout.
How I Stay Motivated:
Motiviation comes naturally after a hard day's work as the workout permits me to burn off all the pent-up stress pushing weights. I am fortunate to burn fat and drop any excess weight reasonably easily in a short period. I do feel guilty when I miss a workout session.
Gym instructors also freely provide encouragement
BB Accomplishments:
Have toned up my body and maintained a steady mass @ 82kgs (175lbs) over the years.

I have been battling to increase the size of my calves - without any success. The calf raise weights I've used are 150kgs (or close to 300lbs). I do 4 sets of 15 reps, three times a week. The only change is firming up the calves but definitely no increase in size at all. Anyone have some advice...
Thank you for the kind words you wrote to me today. There are times when it feels like I'm battling for my health and not getting anywhere.. I wonder if gets boring to read.
My dream is to be able to walk along the northern beaches in Sydney like I did when I was in my 20s. Encouraging comments - like the ones you wrote - are what keep me focused on that goal.
Thanks Seek! Oh man, calves. Jeez, I'm like you and used to do outrageous poundages with little to no results. Although it feels counterintuitive, I think I respond (a little) to giant sets with descending weights to failure. My calves ignore anything that doesn't involve a donkey press. Try some exercises that seem counterproductive & see what happens! Then tell me!!! al
Same here i have porblems with my calves, but right now i have seen them grow a little a did them 5 times a week and now i do them every other day and i see a huge difference instead of once a week.
