I've always been very athletic, but stuck mainly to running sports like Cross Country and Track. This worked well for my thin frame and high metabolism. After a year in college, I decided I wanted to gain weight, and to be able to do that and keep it, I would have to put on muscle because I burn fat way too quickly.
Why I Love It:
The harder you work, the better results you get. Often in life, you can put effort into something and not see the direct results. For instance at your job the harder you work doesn't necessarily mean you will make more money. With working out, you can get results days after a workout, with the added benefit of feeling healthy and strong.
How I Stay Motivated:
I have a mental picture of how I want to look and I work hard at gaining weight, eating right, and working out so I can one day fit that image.
BB Accomplishments:
Gained 20 lbs back in '03 but lost it all due to cancer that soon followed. So I built myself back up to 135 again only to lose it to another illness/abdominal surgery. So i'm back on the bandwagon again, and I'll hit my goals this time for sure.

I don't have a pic from before I started, but this was when I weighed 129lbs.
Why do you like having a workout partner? What are the benefits?
My workout partner is my lovely girlfriend, and I love having her at the gym with me, because if/when I lack motivation, all I have to do is look over at her and I'm reminded of how I want to look my best for her. She's pretty damn hot, so I better get my butt in shape so I don't lose her LOL.My workout partner is my lovely girlfriend, and I love having her at the gym with me, because if/when I lack motivation, all I have to do is look over at her and I'm reminded of how I want to look my ...more

What do you think about people who "grunt" loudly while working out? Do you do it?
Good gains again, man. Is difficult to keep track of you as you enter small weight gains every day, which makes good weekly gains on average. Maybe you can try to control your anxiety and update your stats every week or so? ;)
