Although I have always been quite active and generally in good physical shape, the demands of residency caused drastic changes in my habits. I gained approx. 15lbs in my first year. This because of new unhealthy eating habits, inconsistent working out, erratic schedules, and constant sleep deprivation. As a result, I became moody and unhappy with myself, which affected my entire life. I was tired all the time, and generally uncomfortable with my appearance. I knew that I needed to get back regular working out and healthy eating habits, but could never quite get it together.
My current workout partner recommeded that I join a local bootcamp class. I lost 10lbs in 4 weeks, suddenly had lots of energy and a newfound motivation, and I have been a constant fixture in the gym since then.
Why I Love It:
The Results!!! I get out exactly what I put in. Nothing else in life has such guarenteed results.
I also enjoy the relaxation and excape from the stressors of life that exercising provides. When I am running, it is just me and the wind. Sometimes it gives me just enough boost to keep me going , while at other times it provides just enough resistance to make me work harder. Whatever its direction, in the end I am better for its presence.
How I Stay Motivated:
Looking into the mirror!!! The sense of accomplishment that I feel each time I move to another level keeps me going back for more. Because I am never satisfied, I am motivated to keep pushing myself. The irony is that if I donot go to the gym, I have an overwhelming sense of guilt as though I have broken some cardinal rule.

My legs need so much work. Going to start running the bleachers and doing sprints.
Definition in left delts better than right, so going to continue with extra sets on right. I am pleased with progress in legs. Not a whole lot of definition right now, but overall conditioning is OK. I think when I am leaned out there will be enough muscle to actually flex (b/c we all know, FAT DO ...
I plan to continue conditioning and training for the remainder of 2009. Will start competing again in spring 2010. My goal is to qualify for a National level show by the end of 2010.
IMO one of the best physiques in the Figure's Bodybuilding Industry. Not only is she beautiful on the outside, but seems to have learned from life's lessons, and is just as beautiful on the inside. I enjoy seeing her on stage, with all her grace and poise and can't wait to see her make her IFBB debut. Oh yea, I am so envious of those ABS! ;-)
Just amazing! Both smart and beautiful and committed to staying classy. Has worked hard to achieve a phenomenal physique the natutal way. Truely inspires me to keep working hard to achieve my own goals.
Well, the past month has been a total roller coaster for me. I was right on course with diet and training but then ended up with the flu....most likely swine flu. It took almost a entire 2 weeks for me to get over it andget back to the gym. Unfortunately, during the time I was sick I...
I hear you. I am working with a new coach, now. And my training and diet is a bit different and we are tweaking things early. And I am going to have to go to Crackers Anonymous--dang! I'll be having withdrawals this week, for sure! LOL!
hey! I hope things are going well for you! Wow, no more gold's eh? One life fitness? What's up w/that? I'm still in my garage though...I'll go back when precontest time comes. Hope to see you in there sometime soon. Take care.
Sorry to hear to haven't been feeling well. It's that time of year and the strain of contest prep doesn't help. I find that I am fine until around 6-8 weeks out and something happens. Again, you look GREAT--the unplanned break will work in your favor--I'm sure of it! How are you, otherwise?
Whoa! You look fantastic! You have leaned out alot since last may and you side pose is lovely--nice glutes and hamstrings! You are doing it! 8 Weeks, right? You are going to kill it!
Thanks for the add. I am working on my first comp and love to read about other competitors training, posing, trials and tribulations. I also make my daughter take my pics and she REALLY loves doing that, LOL!!!
Hey there FitChik, thanks you so much for allowing me to inspire you.I hope training is going well. You are looking great.I hate we have not been able to get together. I wish you the best in all you do. please let me know if you need anything. Again it inspires me to know I am helping someone be the best they can be. Keep pressing my sista we are doing this for life-MJ
Girrrrlll! Is that you on the Charm City poster? I got the email about it but couldn't blow up the poster. It looks like you. How's training going? I've been grinding it out in my garage, haven't been to Gold's in a month or so! Take care!
I desire a fat free body with great muscle definition. I battle with depression so bad. My mom has been a ill practically this entire year. One moment she is doing great and then she gets on a downward slope. When she gets like that, I don't like to leave her by herself. If I don't get my weight under control. So any meal plans that you can provide me would be greatly appreciated. I'm in the process of working on buying a came corder so I can down load me and my inches.
Eh, my enjoyment was tempered. How can a boardwalk only have one Funnel Cake stand? Come on VA....
I guess I didn't need it. We went down to the pottery factory in Williamsburg and they had these large cookies. I had two and I enjoyed each and every bite! Ha!
