When I Started:
Sep, 2001
How I Started:
I have always admired women with muscular and lean physiques. I did tons of research before I even got started, by reading fitness and weightlifting magazines. I started lifting weights at home using tapes and videos. Eventually I joined a gym and I don't think I have missed more than 1 week of working out in the last 6 years.
Why I Love It:
I just love the fact that when I'm lifting heavy weights, I literally can not focus on anything else. To me, its almost like meditation. Absolute focus and control work your mind as well as your muscles!
How I Stay Motivated:
Things have changed in a really positive direction for me. While I am not planning to compete in the near future, I have learned to adopt much healthier attitudes and practices in regards to food. I don't want to be a slave to the roller coaster of guilt/obedience that comes with a very restrictive diet program. I stay motivated by health rather than number such as body fat percentage, weight ect. While I still use these tools to chart my progress, I am more focused on treating my body right!
BB Accomplishments:
Reducing my risk for chronic illness, obesity, etc!! How about ensuring I will live 3-7 years longer than the average person, and knowing that the quality of my life is outstanding - I feel great, and that's the most important thing!

You will never know your full potential unless you give it your full focus
Well I have not posted lately, but the good news is that I have stayed on track! I already see many positive changes in my physique and its only been a few days of perfect eating. On wed I get to take my body fat percentage reading as well as weigh in and measurements. I am really exited...
your dedication is admirable. i hope to have a back as defined as yours one day;) keep up the great work and if you see me slacking in the gym...just hit me or something;)
You are beautiful! Good luck on reaching your goals - as long as you stick with it- it will eventually come - might be later than you want but it will come and thank God everyday that you are able to work out without injuries - and if I didn't say it earlier you are beautiful ;)
You are looking fantastic! Just wanted to take the time to say hi and to wish you the best of luck and much success in meeting all your goals. Train Hard!
Ps very x-mas and a happy new year...
one luv Joseph
Good luck in San Antonio! I'm going to be there supporting my boy Andy Hughes (Middleweight, 24 Hour Fitness, Fairmont - Pasadena) and I hope to see you on stage kickin' arse too!
Yup, scope a brah out! Fourth contest downrange, chalk one up for experience - lowest placing so far but at my heaviest weight so I'm just happy to hold ANY lean mass over 200lbs., it's getting harder to stay lean at this young age and cruiser weight...makes me more motivated to stay consistent!
Things are going pretty good. I'm starting to see definition and my strength is improving. I've been trying to do the heaviest weight I can. I pulled something in my neck again but hopefully it'll be better by monday.
