When I Started:
Aug, 2008
How I Started:
I have always been into bodybuilding, lifted seriously until I was 21, then allowed other obligations to get in the way. Now I'm back and ready to make changes!
Why I Love It:
I love the energy rush after a really grueling session. The burn the day after, when you can barely move the muscle group you worked the night before. Adding more weight to your lift.
How I Stay Motivated:
Mirrors and pictures. I see myself now and how I once looked. And it's astounding how much I've let myself get by with. Very disappointing and disgusting. I will not continue on this path!
Congrats on losing 18 pounds!! Thank you for joining the "40 pounds or more" group, still trying to figure out how to manuever it.....but it will be good for all of us to share our ups and downs!! Add a Comment or your thoughts to the groups comment area.
Thanks for the kind words. Yeah, not sure myself how this first run will go. I don't think it's going to be as fast as I'd like. I keep upping my time a little on the treadmill though. Did the 3.1 miles in 27 min. 29 sec. today. These little legs were going so fast I musta looked like Speedy Gonzales from the cartoons. LOL!!!
Exactly. To be able to do what you want, live a long healthy life AND look great in the mirror...what we are all shooting for. I've learned that 70% of the mirror part is diet. Gotta watch what we eat!
I believe it would. I was looking for a far more functional fitness program than mere weight lifting provides. Want to actually BE FIT not just LOOK FIT.
It's a very intense Cross Training program used by many Olympic and Professional athletes along with our Navy Seals. Check out the website at CrossFit.com. I'm loving it. Much more what I'm looking for compared to just lifting weights.
Recovering from the beatings...I love it. Weekends are my busiest times obviously. Very full weekend ahead for sure, but great stuff. Just started a new workout regimen myself, CrossFit. Very intense. I love it.
Thanks for the compliment. I dont get much here because of all the 8% body fat guys..haha..
Yea, i bought a guy. I named it The Body Shop :) I live in a small rural town too so educated the females have been somewhat of a task.. but its working:) Talk to you soon!
