I want to be able to bench press my body weight. I also want to have more lean muscle everywhere on my body.
Goal (Long):
In high school I got into weight lifting, not competing, but just as a hobby. I quickly realized that I was naturally stronger than the other girls in my class, so I decided to pursue it more. I haven't been very motivated with an exact goal until now. I am very competitive, and I know realistically I can't compete with men, but I want to be one of the strongest women at my gym, and in my group of friends. I have a lot of body fat right now. I would like to get that down to 15% at least and be able to bench press my body weight.
What do you do before your workout to get motivated and energized?
I try to focus on just getting to the gym, after that, I look at other people who are in better shape than me to motivate me while I'm there. I also have a folder on my computer with pics that motivate me. How has bodybuilding and fitness helped and/or changed your family life?
If I stay motivated then I can motivate my husband. Iron sharpens Iron and we are both at our best when we encourage and push each other to perform better.
I lifted for the first time in about 7 months on Saturday. It felt so good. I didn't feel very strong, but I pushed myself to see what my one rep max was for a variety of leg lifts.
The next day...OMG. I am now thinking I should have started out slower. I literally can barely walk up...
Thanks, I appreciate that you accepted my friend invite. Much success to you in accomplishing all your health and fitness goals. Take care and have a great week.
