I was doing Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for about 3 months when I started. A new instructor came to the gym, and he involved lots of cardio and plyo in our warm ups. He was also a body builder, so I started asking questions on how to get stronger and bigger. Needless to say I was pretty small, no real development anywhere. But once I started I got hooked.
Why I Love It:
The feeling of self accomplishment that you get when you can see and feel your results. The burning of your muscles during a work out and that great feeling after. And of course looking great.
How I Stay Motivated:
when i pick up 425 in the gym and all the big guys shit themselves that a 150lbs can pick that much up...its priceleess, or better yet when they try it and cant do it.
BB Accomplishments:
hopefully will compete at the npc northern kentucky show in march, in novice..

Taken summer of 2006 right before i started brazilian jiu jitsu..and pretty burnt...
Alright so my gym has a nice pool with a concession area, with a full menu, ya its pretty lame. Anyways, I see this kid probably 12-14 years old in one of the fat loss programs for kids, hes with a great trainer who I lift with on occasion so I know this kids in for a nice workout. So...
what a coincidence dude, i'm also doing about 55-60 lbs for dips now. When you try weighted pullups, tell me how much weight you can do. I've pretty much stopped gaining strength there.
