Gym Location:
When I Started:
Sep, 2004
How I Started:
I hit the max weight allowable for a male my height to pass the military weigh-in without having to measure bodyfat - 216 lbs - with very little muscle in there. I made an effort to learn how to run on a treadmill, and spent the next two years burning fat. Now, I'm working on the muscle part.
Why I Love It:
It's my time away from the world. Me, my music, and the weights. No competition, just the self-satisfaction of getting stronger and looking better.
How I Stay Motivated:
Every time she says "Wow." Reading muscle magazines. Changing the music. Changing the workout.
BB Accomplishments:
Back to a realistic weight with muscle this time. Looking to gain more weight, but not fat any more!
So my first month of working out is over. And taking measurements, which feels very vain, doesn't seem to show much progress. I think I need to lift heavier, and have started a notebook to record my working maximums on my lifts. Maybe that will help push me. I feel stronger, that is...
Well I guess I can't complain about lack of sleep, when here your waking up to gunshots. I feel like an idiot complaining about sleep. My training is going great now that I'm feeling rested.
Dang Pack... Workouts are going great. I have been leaning out some. I am ready to lean out a lot more...Will see what happens. Hope your work outs are going GREAT!!!
The new year is good so far.. I am setting new goals.. to be in the best shape of my life by 40.. I have until december to rock this body into perfect shape.. 12 months I KNOW it can be done.. thanks for checking.. How are things with YOU.. LOOKING good!!
That's awesome on outdoing your guess on the 1RM. The new routine generally felt great and really felt new parts of my chest working hard by the time I got to the cable crossovers -- decline bench really killed my shoulder though, so I've got to be careful not to overdo it. Keep up the good work!
I switched up from 2-3 sets of 6 of heavy barbell bench, incline and decline to 5 sets (6 reps) each of incline dumbells, decline, cable crossover and cable pullovers. Still heavy but more isolation. Gonna try this for a few weeks before testing the 1RM again. How's it going for you? Be safe.
