To follow a basic program for 3 months to gain strength (and to stick with it!)
Goal (Long):
Burn off the body fat, especially around the waist. I want to see my abs and have better definition in my muscles. Body fat below 10% is my goal. I want the feeling I had years ago when I lifted weights/exercised. I've been reading up on ways to burn fat and would highly recommend Burn The Fat, Feed The Muscle by Tom Venuto. I bought a weight bench, barbell and weights. I am now not limited to just dumbbells. I also want to track my progress by taking before pictures and monthly ones from there on. Monthly measurements would also help me see progress made and would help boost my self-esteem. I believe I can meet these goals and hope to get support from others as I start what I want to become my new daily standard for living....eating well and exercising and enjoying it's rewards.
This last week I was feeling more tired than usual. I got in only 3 days of weightlifting. Had to also deal with backed up drainage pipes from the kitchen sink and the bathroom tub drain that meet in the basement.....was clogged with what I suspected - mostly hair.
8/16/08 I'm at the 2 month mark. And I'm still with it! I decided to start using the Workout Tracker so I removed what I used to have here as to what exercises I am doing. My strength has increased and I am looking at getting some supplements like creatine and amino acids. 1 more month to go...
Hey Ryan, thanks for the encouragement on both levels bro! All the best with your aims, discipline will be the key I am sure. I like the comment you made regarding our Lord, remember Jesus said, "He that hath seen me hath seen the Father" what an awesome statement! Speak to you again soon bro. Mark
Congrats for sticking to your programme. It is that little bit day by day that makes the big difference 6 months down the line. The biggest contributor to my fatloss was the 7 small meals per day with low carb and lots of water. I also used a lot of MRP shakes and cut out the evening meal and used a shake instead. I actually do very little cardio. Hope it helps? G.
Hey, guy,
Was reading comments sent to Gert (Capetown) and caught that God means a lot to you. Me, too. Are you a "born-again" brother? I'm your age and am trying to build a more God-glorifying templer. How's that going for you/
