When I Started:
Jun, 2007
How I Started:
I've always been athletic and could play any sport under the sun. Then, I had my beautiful babies and my body changed.....or, I guess I should say I let my body go to flab. I got tired of seeing the love handles and having to shop for bigger sizes and so I decided to do something about it. Now for me, competition is motivation, so that's why I decided to begin body-building and gearing up to compete. It helps me to keep "the big picture" in the forefront of my mind and stick to the plan.
Why I Love It:
I feel great after a good workout and I feel almost euphoric from the fact that I'm taking back control of my body and changing and reshaping it to look and function the way I want it to. I look at my progress pictures and feel I great sense of pride in what I've accomplished.
How I Stay Motivated:
As I said, competition is a big motivating factor for me. Two other big motivators are my beautiful little girls. I want them to grow up with an appreciation and respect for their own bodies and to see my example in how to care for and maintain a healthy body.
BB Accomplishments:
Just started so.....I'll be posting those soon!

Taken on Day 1...I HATE how my body looks...and I'm doing something about it!
Getting closer! 16 Weeks until my first competition!
I want to compete in the 2008 San Antonio Classic and take home the overall women's bodybuilding trophy!
Goal (Long):
I want a healthy body that glorifies God, pleases my husband, and sets a positive, healthy example for my daughters. I want to be 130 lbs with 9% body fat or less, and with 110% commitment, I will accomplish this within 16 weeks.
Ok, so I've got 4 weeks left until my very first competition! I'm getting excited! I started tanning a few weeks ago and I can't believe the difference a little color makes! So far I seem to be leaning out pretty nicely....starting to see some much anticipated detail in my muscles - especially...
This month is my leg-concentration month. I run/bike 4-6 miles, 3 days a week as usual. I weight-train 3 days a week, as well and here is this month's weight training program:
Leg Extensions - 2 sets of 8-10 reps
Adductions - 2 sets of 8-10 reps
Leg Curls - 2 sets of 8-10 reps
Calf Press -...
You are making great strides in your quest for a better body and I wish you much success. Challenge yourself and always strive to be the best that you can be and you will be amazed at the results and the speed at which they can occur. Stay strong and focused and believe in your ability to reach your goals.
