When I Started:
Jul, 2009
How I Started:
A friend of mine had ballooned up to 250 lbs. Doesn't sound bad (if you're 6'6"). He is about 5'7" and he looked terrible. He began going to a boxing gym here locally. He lost 80+ lbs. in a little under a year. That motivated me to start going to the gym with him. I have since then transformed my garage into a suitable home gym that I can work out everyday at my scheduled time instead of having to second guess a trainers schedule.
Why I Love It:
I love the feeling that you get when you get done with a vigorous workout. The sweat and the tightness you feel when you are done. Plus, people that workout always look happier in life as well as in health.
How I Stay Motivated:
I look to friends, family, etc. I also like this site to read the transformation articles. Knowing that other people have been here and done it makes it a reality for me. My son is probably my biggest motivation. Being here for him and my wife is why I want to change.

Goal (Long):
People around me have told me that this is a fictional goal to go from 440 lbs. to 205 lbs. but I beg to differ. They say all the things that make you want to give up, like "You're just built bigger than that," or "You're big boned!" I need this to happen so that I can live longer and healthier for my family and so that I can gie up on being that fat guy that I have ALWAYS been and start living.
