Overall Goal: I am taking time off, added a ton of muscle and will begin to cut in December! I will do the N.KY show in March 2010....I was struggling with trying to add mass and lean out at the same time!
Fit Status:
Increasing my sets, low reps, Increasing my weight again! 40lb DB Arnold Presses!!
I have been a Cardio freak since I was 18, and have always been fit. Running was my sport of choice until I discovered the bodybuilding competition scene, and I drank the coolaid! I love being in that atmosphere of competitiveness with folks that have worked hard to reach goals and look amazing! I have a huge appreciation for those that are so dedicated! I started lifting weights after I had my daughter, who is now 2.5 years old. I have been eating lean/training hardcore since January 6th when I started with Julie Lohre. I will do my first competition April 11th in the new NPC Bikini Division (a little softer than figure look)...Then hit it really hard for the Kentucky Muslce and Fitness Competition in Nov. 09 - That will be some serious training (no wine..lol) 3 months out!
Why I Love It:
It is MY TIME to focus on ME and nothing else and let ALL stress out...that helps me lift heavy!!!
When I am done, I am calm and can head back to work, relaxed, focused and in charge!
Confidence it gives me; mind and body!
How I Stay Motivated:
It is a lifestyle and a Habit; you make it a scheduled priority in your work/family life! I am very busy with work during the week, so I prepare most meals on Sunday for the upcoming week!
BB Accomplishments:
Ran the Ky Derby half Marathon
Pap Johns 10 miler
San Diego Rock N Roll Marathon June 1, 2008
I am taking time off, added a ton of muscle and will begin to cut in December! I will do the N.KY show in March 2010....I was struggling with trying to add mass and lean out at the same time!
Goal (Long):
Continue to eat 6 small meals a day, very clean and weight train 4 days a week, HIIT twice a week, and 2 x 60 min workouts a week! Thats the plan until Dec.!!!! Then I will switch it up and get crazy intense again!!!
Jessica is my workout partner, my support, and my motivator...I'm learning so much from her and she pushes me past limits I've never reached before....She is 100% dedicated to training and diet, and in turn a HUGE influence on me!!! I feel very blessed to have such a great friend in my life! Lets rock it together in November! Jess is my idol and she INSPIRES ME!!
What do you think about people who "grunt" loudly while working out? Do you do it?
Your lifting too heavy...it is disturbing MY FOCUS!

What type of outfit do you usually wear when you workout? Why?
tank and fitted leggings, because I sprint run after my weights and do not want baggy clothes on...tank to see my muscles and progress, helps with motivation!
Krista you are looking great.what great body work you have.yes that is good going in on the N.KY show.stay focus and thumbs up on that and you will do great.
Here's something I discovered on accident. I always took NoExplode before my 10 and 20 mile runs and I actually started gaining a little muscle weight. And it's very hard for me to gain wieght from all the running I do in the Marine Corps. Just throwing that out there. Amazing back muscle btw.
TY krista :) Catabolism is exactly what I am worried about. With my diet being the common bodybuilder fare, my glycogen stores are very low. I have been taking Carnitine but it is expensive and REALLY, do I want to rely on supplements forever? The other choice is to somehow UP the carbs prior to a run...getting the balance right will take planning I guess. You are looking incredibly fabulous, you really do have a beautiful physique. ~Missy
Hi Krista,
I was wondering if you were currently training for a race.. and this is a terribly general question..but what is your take on weight training and running together? I'm trying to balance the two and want to find the best approach in doing so. :)~Missy
I just stopped by to wish you nothing but success as you work towards your fitness goal. Too many people think it can’t be done and you have proven that with hard work and dedication that it can. Well done. Keep up the great work. I look forward to watching your continuing progress. Stay strong, focused and determined.
I know your going for the muscly look. But I would kill to have your legs. Not to muscly or to chubby. Its just right, exactly what i would be happy with. Best of luck with it, and I'll look forward to seeing them improve.
OMG lol, I would GLADLY trade my back (TY for the sweet compliment) for your Glutes!!! I have a squishy mommy butt...Seriously tho, I JUST looked at a picture of me back in April when I really started. 168 lbs. I almost started crying, having forgot where I came from so recently. I DO find that other peoples progress pictures are incredibly inspiring, maybe one day I will get the courage to post those true before pictures. ~Missy
Krista,
Ty again for accepting my invite. :D I finally got brave enough and put a profile picture up. EEK. BUT, I'm not quite brave enough to put up the REAL before pictures...talk about s c a r y! Maybe some day. Well enjoy your time off. :D ~Missy
