Background

When I Started: Jan 2009
HOW I STARTED:

I have been lifting weights since I was in high school for sports. Working out has always been a huge part of my life. In college I started weight training on a regular basis 3-4 x's a week. I have gone thru spurts where I have just focused on running...I have run in 4 marathons, 2 ultra races, and numerous 1/2 marathons and shorter distances. However I see so many more results when I pair weight training w/ cardio. Now to just do cardio feels like I haven't finished my work out!

WHY I LOVE IT:

I have always been a cardio queen, but in Jan '09 I really started noticing the wonderful effects lifting has on the body!!!! I love seeing my body change....Plus you can mix up your cardio and weight training in so many different ways, it's really hard to get bored! I love working out too b/c it makes me feel so good!!!

Still feeling good

Legs today.  Felt pretty good---although about 11:40 I was starving....fortunately I got busy at work and the rest of the day went by w/ out the need to think about what I would love to be eating.  I know the end result will be worth it....that's why in times of hunger-I drink way too much water and chew too much sugar free gum!  It's a lifesaver!!!  I wore some workout shorts today that just about 2 weeks ago were pretty tight.  I love seeing these results-keeps me motivated on funky day!

1st day on new diet

7 weeks & 6 days til show time.  My diet changed today.  I haven't had fruit or dairy in about 4 weeks now.  However today grapefruit was added into my diet.  I was totally shocked how delicious it tasted!!!  I hated grapefruit the last time I ate it.  It was so good though....I swear I almost felt like eating the rind!!!  I feel pretty good even though I know my carbs have decreased from my previous diet!  I'm feeling good and can tell I have lost quite a bit of junk (aka butt!) w/in the last couple of weeks!!!  I hope my enthusiasm and feel go...

I'm starting this in hopes to keep myself motivated and to just review for my next competition or if I just want a good laugh.  Today has been good.  I cooked all of my food for the week (except for my meat-I'll get that tomorrow).  I will start my "new" diet (phase II) tomorrow.  Not so sure if I'm excited about it or not....just from eyeballing it expecting my carbs to be around 75g vs 100g (where they are currently).  I just woke up from my nap...I started my new training today.  I had to run 90 minutes (or we can break it up into 2, 45 sessions) toda...
