Background
I have been lifting weights since I was in high school for sports. Working out has always been a huge part of my life. In college I started weight training on a regular basis 3-4 x's a week. I have gone thru spurts where I have just focused on running...I have run in 4 marathons, 2 ultra races, and numerous 1/2 marathons and shorter distances. However I see so many more results when I pair weight training w/ cardio. Now to just do cardio feels like I haven't finished my work out!
I have always been a cardio queen, but in Jan '09 I really started noticing the wonderful effects lifting has on the body!!!! I love seeing my body change....Plus you can mix up your cardio and weight training in so many different ways, it's really hard to get bored! I love working out too b/c it makes me feel so good!!!
