I was scrawny all through high school. I started lifting but couldn't put on any weight. Once I learned how to eat and started seeing the results of both, I was hooked.
Why I Love It:
Working out is one of my top priorities every day. I may not be as hardcore in to bodybuilding as some, but the satisfaction I get from a good workout is a great feeling!
How I Stay Motivated:
My job keeps me motivated. I can't let all these younger guys coming in look more physically fit than me!
BB Accomplishments:
I finally repped 100 lb. dumbells for 5 reps in flat bench for the first time! New measurable personal records are my accomplishments.

I have respect for the hardcore bodybuilders, but I'll never be one. Some people are driven by how their body looks in clothes, in a mirror or on a stage and that's just fine. My personal goal is not only to have a body that has strength, flexibility and endurance, but to also be able to apply those things to real life situations. I'm not a professional athlete, but I try to treat my body like one. My job requires the use of my mind and body, and my crew relies on me for all of our safety so I need to be accountable. I have seen young men with weight room built bodies that just can't apply all that muscle to the everyday tasks of the job. What good is strength if you have no endurance or if you're prone to injury? I try to do it all: Lift weights, all forms of cardio, basketball, yoga...variety is the spice of life and I believe it should apply to your personal health as well. I'll never count calories, but I listen to what my body needs and I don't deprive myself of anything--moderation is the key. I train for the stage of life. To sum it up, my goal has no boundaries. It is simply to be "functionally fit."
Everyone hits plateaus. Even the novice bodybuilder knows that a simple change in your program can be enough to stimulate new muscle growth. Maybe you'll find that your muscles react even better than before. Change is not only good, it's imperative for growth. Warning: ...
I have slowed it down a bit b/c of my shins...i have been alternating walking/running...it seems to help...my run is coming up this Sat. I know i won't place (speed is not fast)...at least i will finish!!! I have only been training for a couple of months and thats not enough time to build speed.
Take Care and Have a GREAT week training
pretty much will celebrate our youngest daughter's birthday today, she turned 13 years old. Try to eat the right food, except no alcohol at all. I did a workout today in the morning.
I guess you got your wish...or maybe you just watch the weather channel...lol. It's pretty cool this morning, I'd say! How's your training coming along?
Rdub...when are you gonna help me with this Fire Extinguisher...I was trying to figure it out last night and I think I broke it, the pin came out and all this white foam went everywhere.
