I started working out in high school because my girlfriend at the time (she was a state champion swimmer) use to beat me at arm wrestling. I entered my first bodybuilding competition in 1994 (called the Hawaiian Classic) where I won the overall contest. I've been hooked on bodybuilding ever since.
Why I Love It:
I love to challenge myself to improve every year.
How I Stay Motivated:
I have a goal of winning my pro card within the next 2 years.
BB Accomplishments:
I won every major contest in Hawaii.
I've been a top 5 national competitor since 1996. I won the 2002 Masters National Lightweight title and the 2003 Mr. USA lightweight title.

This photo was taken before the 2003 Mr. USA where I won the lightweight class. It is titled "The Mighty Hawaiian" by my photographer Claude Ayakawa. This is an award winning photo.
This photo was used to promote the 2007 inagural Stingrey Classic @ the Pacific Beach Hotel on March 23rd. Next year's national qualifier contest will be April 18, 2008 @ the same location. See you there...

I'm doing great Rey! I'll be back in Hawaii early Sept. I'm in Qatar. I've been out here close to 3.5 months. I've just been hitting the weights & taking it easy. I'm looking forward to getting back to Hawaii. How have things been going? Tell Pebbles I said hello!
