Background

When I Started: Jul 2008
HOW I STARTED:

I started working with a trainer in July 2008 to get back in shape. My trainer was a National level Figure competitor (recently earned pro card). I have always been a very competitive person so naturally I became interested in what she was doing. I started training for my own figure competition in Jan. 2009 and competed in May 2009. I took 2nd place in the open division, but my ultimate goal is to be competitive in the Masters Nationals in 2010.-=

WHY I LOVE IT:

Being 48, it is surprising how easy it is to just say "I'm too old to be fit" but I refuse to think that way. Everyday I push myself harder at the gym because I refuse not to be fit!

We get all sort of excuses on why not to workout and after seeing your pics and reading your over 40 bb of the month I got another perspective. I workout 6 days a wk but I guess I need to bring it up a notch. (-: You look amazing. 48? Almost 50 and you dont have hanging skin? Keep it up, you look great.

Her story really inspired me because I just started getting into the gym at the age of 39 and now at 40 I have decided I want to compete in a bodybuilding competition. rreilly proves that age is not an issue when you have determination, a goal and put hard work at the forefront of everything. You really can achieve your dreams! She is proof and has motivated me to work even harder in the gym!
