Started lifting in college by enrolling in Weightlifting 101. Got tired of being tall and painfully thin. Didn't get serious about it as a lifestyle until I moved to Connecticut
Why I Love It:
It's very fulfilling to challenge myself to improve and change how I look. On a fundamental level, the discipline extends to other aspects of my life. I like being about to feel resistance from weights and have my body overcome its limitations.
How I Stay Motivated:
That's been and continues to be a struggle to remain motivated. Attending competitions and talking with the competitors has really bolstered my enthusiasm.
BB Accomplishments:
Transforming my body from a 6'3-1/2" tall, 138 lbs person into a more muscular 200 lbs. I am currently the heaviest I've ever been. 220 lbs HERE I COME!

This shot was taken as a baseline prior to starting any kind of bodybuilding routine. I worked out, but never consumed enough calories to make it work for me.
Progress photo for mid-year 2009, with a goal of reaching 220 lbs by the end of the year before starting contest prep. Front double biceps at 194 lbs and 14% bf.
Alex is disciplined and dedicated towards his goals. Great inspiration at contest and a nice guy to talk with. He inspires me to train my legs and bring them up.
Brett has the size that I would ideally want for myself. He gives me a goal to visualize and strive for. Great guy to talk with and looking forward to see how he progresses.
8 to 12 reps per set, although I used to go much lower. The middle range of reps seems to stimulate more muscle growth in my body than the previous low range I was using of 4 to 7 reps.

How long do you rest between sets on average? Why?
I rest about a minute between most sets as just enough to catch my breath and hit the weights, again. For more involved exercises like squats, I take about 2-3 minutes rest.

What celebrity body would you most like to have? Why?
Ryan Reynolds' body represents an ideal for the male physique. He's not overly muscular, but is well developed and symmetrical. Chris Evans would be a similar body-type.
Why I like this video: One of my first videos to record bodybuilding progress. This was taken 6 years ago before I started eating and lifting consistently.

Why I like this video: After training for 6 months, I'd managed to gain a little size, but still wasn't eating consistently. I like the striations and definition shown in this video.

Why I like this video: Recorded on my 32nd birthday, and one of the first videos I'm proud of for the gains I'd achieved. This was the moment when I decided to train towards the goal of competing.

Happy New Year! (belated) With all the traveling done over the holidays, I didn't have a chance to update everyone on my goals and how I finished out 2008. The good news is that I achieved my goal of being 200 lbs by the end of 2008!!! That is phenomenal for me as I have never been this...
That is a Small show but the promoter is making his shows bigger and bigger each time around. I would say that would be a great show for u to do next year.
They test one guy the rest dont and they only do a urine test u can be on Drugs for life then go off 3-4 weeks before the show and pass the test. This year I placed worse than I did the year before and I looked soo much better the only problem was they had a ton of guys that used to use and were using prohomones in the show. I know u work hard and want to see the hard work pay off take my advice ditch the BLNPA and do the OCB show the week after bigger and better fed and they are for real
I would tell you that if u are competely natural u are better off finding a different federation. They dont drug test at all in th BLNPA and that is not right. OCB or INBF would be better organization. I know I will never compete again in the BLNPA
Awsome. I live just outside Halifax and am originally from Cape Breton so I noticed to kilt right away. Congrats on Competing in your first show. Hopefully I will be ready for my fiest show in April. Keep up the good work.
