How I Started:
I started working out in 1987/88. I was never athletic but had my vanity and remembered looking at photos of bodybuilders when I was a kid and always had a desire to look like them. I was a heavy little kid thinning out in early high school and although I was no longer the fat kid it has somehow always stayed with me. I have worked fairly successfully over the years to keep my weight down and look as good as possible, but I know there is always room for improvement. Without sounding to into myself at 48 I don't look so bad. However after getting to know this site and seeing the amazing transformations and the guys around my age and older looking as good as they do; I once again am on the path to look better than ever.
Why I Love It:
To say I love body building or working out might be strong, but I will say I have stayed self motivated for many years and can't see my life without the gym. The results I have seen over the years in myself have kept me moving forward. I also enjoy good food and better wine and can only imagine what I would look like if I stopped working out and let the calories take over.
How I Stay Motivated:
Fear!! I never want to look my age. And now seeing what can be done after seeing some of these guys; that will work miracles. And of course my wife, this lady gets up 5 days a week at 5:30 is off to the gym, runs 3.5mi and works the weights the rest of the time,yoga 4 days a week and now the good weather is here she'll be out walking or on the bike. I better get off my a.....

What bicep workout has worked best for you?
I really like EZ bar and straight bar curls. I get a great pump and feel that there are visible results.

Pulldowns have always been a staple but close grip bar on the smith machine feels more substantial.

For the first time in my life I want to gain weight; it's always been the other way around, but with my new eating regimen I am starting to lose. Don't get me wrong the clothes fitting better and seeing more definition is great but my goal is to gain and gain cleanly. That six pack looks great...
