I first starting working out my senior year of high school. Before that was a series of yo-yo diets, diet pills and half @$$ed attempts. I enjoyed working out so much that it led to becoming a certified group fitness instructor and my passion continued to grow.
When I quit cheerleading my 3rd year of college I packed on 20 pounds and continued to yo-yo throughout the next year. This past summer I worked at Camp La Jolla (fitness camp) and learned more about the mental relationship I had with food and how to better my nutrition habits. I came back from California with a positive attitude and 16 pounds lighter.
I have struggled with the nutrition aspect of working and have been overweight for a large portion of my life but have made a commitment to eating clean in addition to my workouts and have also signed up for my first figure competition in May of next year.
Why I Love It:
The post-workout high
How I Stay Motivated:
I imagine getting back to where I was and remembering how far I have left to go.
BB Accomplishments:
HAH- Posting pics of me in a swimsuit is pretty acomplished. But I will have some real accomplishments soon.

Thanks for the blog comment! And yes the US attitude has changed so much towards food and exercise, its almost unfortunate but this is all the price to pay for globalization and innovation!
Good luck with what ever show that you will do. It is cool that you are supporting your fiancée at this time. You will need his support when you start to compete. It is hard enough to compete some times but you do need your family support to really make it work. Great job and keep training hard.
