I started working out for sport mainly for Rugby and have always been active. My 1st workout was at school age 17 but I didn't realise how much of a novice I was.
I became more serious with Rugby and played for Leicester Tigers academy. I was training hard, twice a day and was quite fit but I soon found out that I wasn't guaranteed a place in the squad (with 5 internationals for 2 positions) I decided to enjoy University.
Over the last couple of years I've had too many minor injuries and I'd rather be fit doing something I enjoy then sidelined.
The minor injuries have made me reassess what I want from sport/exercise and from this I have found a love for working out.
The reason I have put on my profile a start date of November 2006 is that before I never really worked out seriously, it was aimed at my performance in sport.
Why I Love It:
I love bodybuilding because it's a challenge against yourself and also a science. I am also natural and won't give in to the easy road (gear!)
For me Bodybuilding is working towards an ongoing goal, it's dedication personified and it gives me a sense of pride to see good results.
There is no hiding in bodybuilding it is honest if you put the effort it can only show, slacken off and shows!
How I Stay Motivated:
My motivation is a personal sense of pride and being the best you can be.
I also love seeing muscles develop, the separation and blood pumping.
And the no.1 reason is because the last thing I want to be is like everybody else!
