After several failed attempts to get in shape - I just had to do it. I came across bodybuilding.com and it has been a big inspiration to my motivational efforts to reach success.
Why I Love It:
It's a great accomplishment for me after every workout. To live and look healthy - Of course the compliments of my transition help alot too!!!
How I Stay Motivated:
I look in the mirror, I think about my wife and son, I think about just looking and feeling great, I think about the compliments that I may receive, I think about how guilty I will feel if I don't do it.
BB Accomplishments:
None at this time.

Progress Pictures

This picture of me at 225 lbs was taken just prior to beginning my workouts. I'm hoping future progress pictures will generate positive comments. Also, motivating comments are welcome as I am sure that I will need it:)
Very disappointed in my progress. Although my weight is dropping, these pics still make me sick to my stomach. I look in the mirror and say, okay getting there. Then I see the pic and feel like I'm getting no-where.
My goal is to lose the fat and add more defintion by July of 2008.
Goal (Long):
Continue a healthy lifestyle, but of course with some cheat meals:) In doing so - I want the cut look - I want to be lean. I don't want to bulk up, but a nice cut body would be perfect!!!
What do you do before your workout to get motivated and energized?
Think about how I will feel later if I don't work out. I also think about all of the compliments that I have received up to this point regarding my transition.

What do you think about people who "grunt" loudly while working out? Do you do it?
I don't do it, but it does get annoying. Of course I'm probably not lifting anywhere near what they are.

Why I like this video: A motivational piece to Just Do it - I work as an Affiliate Marketing Manager for Eastbay/footlocker.com and should be more motivated, but this video helps!
I have unfortunately picked up a bad cold which has me light headed along with some minor aches and pains. I'm taking today off from the gym to see if that helps me to recover faster. If anyone knows of anthing to help recover from a nice lump in the throat and body aches that wont put...
Also be sure you are getting "enough" clean calories for your height/weight. Going too low will stall out your metabolism. Good luck! I'll be following along! :)
hehe, thanks! I'm afraid to get some trolling if i leave that one up too much :P Yeah, i know what you mean about the other half tempting you into *bad* foods. My husband tries to do that to me. I haven't fell for it yet. We are going out for dinner tonight though for steak :)
HEY....HOW ARE YOU? Thank you so much...keep me posted on your progress..and let me know how I can help. Hope your injurys are healing...
Have a great 4th
i didn't try to submit anythign until about 2 days later...i was still trying to figure out the site. if you are still having difficulties i would email them. I think the email is in the sign up instructions....i am sorry that i can't be of more help...i am computer illiterate
Thank you! You should go for it! If i can do it (and i never though i would about a year ago) then you can surely do it! Its so much fun and very empowering! You will make your family proud and pumped over it ;)
Hey, Rodney! Sorry for the belated reply; it's been insanely busy around here! So glad you appreciated my 3/2 post. It came straight from the heart and I'm glad you find it motivating! Keep up the great work and MAKE IT COUNT!! --Kim
Those dang situations that set ya back...ugh...I know the feeling...keep at it, refocus and hopefully you will be able to get back on track very soon!!
Things are going great, thanks:) I'm trying to pick up my training a bit so that I can possibly do a half marathon in the spring. I hope all is well with you, have a great week (& an even better weekend!) Take care,
