How I Started:
Started as a powerlifter in high school (in Bend, Oregon). Lifted fairly consistantly for the past 20 years, but never really paid attention to diet. Now I'm on track and losing bodyfat, trying to see the muscle underneath the fat.
Why I Love It:
I love the burn, the pump. I like being able to surprise myself at my own successes.

I set short range goals that I know are realistic.

Thats pretty cool. Does it get used to the way the Army does business? Do you get enough time to eat/train? I am thinking about going IA. I am an AM if that matters.

Hey Thanks for the comment to my blog. I will not get discouraged. It's ok if the scale doesn't show the changes I want, b/c I feel the changes in my clothes, my energy and my life and that is good enough for me to keep up the work.
Thanks again for the response. Take care. I wish you the best.
Excellent training goals! Your family will soon follow. Keep up the dedication and the hard work. After the family follows your lead, soon co-workers, kids friends, etc will take note and start to look at themselves and where they want to be.
