When I Started:
Aug, 2005
How I Started:
I've always liked working out since I was around 14. I did not start going to the gym consistantly until November 2006.
I was trying to get big enough to get a starting spot on my junior football team.
Why I Love It:
Has helped with my confidence level in life. Also, it is the only sport that will test your limits mentally and psyically. Watching my body change is a great feeling. And competitions is all on YOU. Not your trainer (to some degree), not your friends/teammates.. but You. Which is the best feeling when you win a competition.
How I Stay Motivated:
I had one major goal in mind, and to achieve that, I HAD to stay motivated. Then once I started seeing some major changes, just the fact of seeing more and more changes kept/keeps me motivated.

What should look for in a gym? What should you avoid?
That it has all that you need in order to train properly.
And if you are into bodybuilidng or powerlifting, try to look for gyms that aren't "fitness spas" like most gyms are turning into now. You wan't an atmosphere that isn't broken down and filthy, but you don't want a gym that makes you feel awkward to reak a sweat or frowns upon people doing what they have to do to lift heavy. That it has all that you need in order to train properly.

At the gym in the last month, I have been asked on a few differnt occasions if I was training for a compition, or I should start competing. At first I was like ya , whatever. But now im thinking it would be a pretty cool experience to do. But even though I have been told I should, I really dunno...
