To be healthier. Reduce stress. Decrease Blood Pressure. Improve Cardiovascular performance. Gain lean muscle.
Why I Love It:
How I Stay Motivated:
I believe motivation comes internally, the ability to convince yourself that being a healthy person, a strong person will benefit your life and the others around you. Empowering yourself to be better everyday of your life, to be the best you can be. Now comparing yourself to others my be one way to motivate, but competing against yourself, driving yourself to be in the best shape possible is the motivation I use to say no to that slice of pizza, or going to the gym after working 30hrs without sleep. At the end of the day, the only person that you see in the mirror, is you.
BB Accomplishments:
Currently involved in my own physique transformation.
Working on getting certified as ACSM specialized personal trainer.
Working getting a fellowship in sports medicine.
Working on being a fellow of the american college of sports medicine.
I am currently involved in the Muscletech physique transformation contest. Since graduating medical school and starting my surgical residency, working out and eating healthy has been extremely difficult. I lost my focus in working out and living a healthy lifestyle. Time being a major factor, i.e. working 120 hrs/week, staying up all night taking care of patients, I forgot to take care of myself. My "Papajohns/Mcdonald's" diet placed my health at extreme risk. My blood pressure increased to stroke levels, I began to feel lethargic, and my overall perception of myself began to diminish. Luckily, I got out of this unhealthy cycle by getting a new job at another hospital which afforded me more time to myself and allowed me to rededicate my life to one of fitness. Now, with my new found focus, I have not only begun a physique transformation, but a lifestyle transformation. I feel more complete physically, emotionally, and professionally. To maintain a life of fitness and health is a difficult path, one that most individuals cannot sustain for long periods of time. So many get discouraged and eventually revert to previous habits, it is my goal not to fall into this path, for getting out of it is one of the hardest things to do. I would love to defeat the norm, and rise above, to be better than I ever thought I could be.

Todays thoughts:I am pleased with myself for making healthy lifestyle changes.
I succeed because I want to succeed.
I do not compete with others, but only challenge myself.
Create an awesome day!
