How I Started:
A few friends and I would get our parents to drop us off after school to the gym. Most all the equipment was hand made by two NL powerlifting champions in a welding shop at one of the local mines, free weights and all lol. There weren't really any other kids our age there, but the older guys would give us tips on exercises and form, and keep an eye on us to make sure we didn't kill ourselves. It was a core group of us of about 5 that kept going the rest or junior high and throughout high school.
Why I Love It:
The feeling of accomplishment, and nothing and I mean NOTHING gets rid of stress like a heavy lifting day at the gym.

What do you think about people who "grunt" loudly while working out? Do you do it?
I don't do it myself.. in my opinion there's no need for it.. I move some heavy weight and manage to internalize it
