When I Started:
Sep, 2005
How I Started:
I started working out in my room without equipment and with a 3 kg dumbbell. I then moved down to the gym down stairs. Then I started Martial Arts. Then I starting using dads bike. Then I trained with weapons outside. Then I became lazy and just did Knife Defense, Karate and Weapons classes.
The I was injured as I started at gymnastics and weapon class. Now I'm only doing gymnastics. Midyear I'll hopefully go back to karate/weapons.
Why I Love It:
It makes me feel healthier, safer and stronger. I like looking good and feeling confident.
How I Stay Motivated:
Ryan Reynolds (Blade: Trinity) -- Inspiration.
Stunts/gymnastics and action films.
Having a clear goal with a good reason behind it.
BB Accomplishments:
OVER 50KG! OVER 55KG! MAX 58KG!
Then back down to 55... and I lost motivation.

I want to hit 60-75kg (even though it might take a while). I want to look like a proper male gymnast.
Goal (Long):
I want to get bigger and fitter. I have wanted to get bigger since my first year at high school. To me, being thin and having everyone go on about it is just the same as being called fat (except it seems harder to gain weight then lose it).
I started off in my bedroom listening to music doing push ups, crunches, squats and curls, I started to see veins and all I did was tone up. I liked it a lot and I wanted to see more veins so I kept going for a while, until I completely lost all motivation (and my inspiration).
I watched a lot of action movies and wanted to be strong, fast, have a fantastic stamina and awesome martial arts reflexes and tricks (it's still what I am striving towards today... I am considering becoming a stunt performer).
I eventually bought nunchucks, and spent a few hours every night out the back of my house until my right arm was dead, then I would repeat when it was okay. I did that for quite a while until I got bored of the few moves I could do.
My brother, who was constantly trying to lose weight, bought a bench press. I started using that, but I never thought about making the resistance harder, so it only worked for a small period of time. I did that for a while, until my back got hurt and wont straighten out. He sold that soon after.
I started karate June 2006, and went almost everyday for a few months, until I slowed down a little (3 time a week instead), I then started weapons (we did the bo stick, then kama, then sword) and knife defense (that turned into general street fighting because we defended against baseballs bats and stuff as well). During 2007 knife defense was canceled because of few people turning up.
My dad eventually bought a bike treadle thing, and I used that but I got bored quickly when I found out there was no muscle underneath my kneecaps. I just stuck to karate after that for a while.
Then my brother bought a gym membership to Genesis, but he stopped using it so then I occasionally used it until it ran out.
I want to be better at fighting as well as running away. My dream job is possibly a stunt performer/actor, and I am going to need those skills.
I was forced to stop karate over the past year because of an injured shoulder.
I now also do gymnastics, I am planning on having 2009 dedicated to gymnastics and karate, as well as proper sleep and eating (and we could throw school in there, too).
That's been my entire physical life up to now. I've gained 18lbs by eating more, but I've also lost fitness.
Yesterday I decided I would eat what ever i want, no matter how bad for me. So after school (after eating what i normally eat) I went down to Maccas with a friend who works there and we got a discount. So I bought 2 cheese burgers each, then after them I bought a quarter pounder and a small...
Thanks for accepting! Great results of your training just for having 16! Specially biceps, ABS and chest! Keep working as before and I hope you will be able to reach all your goals! How is going yout training?
It could be anything, Rhys. Depending on the mechanism of injury (i.e. what were you doing, position of arm when it happened etc.), pain level and type of pain, range of motion, etc. I suggest that, yeah, you get your physio to look at it; they should do a few special tests on it to see wha it is, and then, if necessary, give you a rehab programme for it.
I wouldn't bother about LOSING BF, Rhys. I would concentrate instead on gaining muscle mass (you need to be doing SOME resistance work, even twice a week; and this would mean eating more, as well). Gains in weight could be from water/food, muscle, or BF. Because you are so active I doubt it would be too much from BF.
Hey, that's all good. Your BF sounds fine (I wouldn't be TOO worried about it at the moment, simply because of your age). Yep, going back on that diet will be fine. And yes, you CAN INCREASE your calorie intake even from that, since you are so active.
Don't worry about it; your weight is constantly fluctuating, depending on the time of day, what you have eaten, how much you've had to drink, exercise, hormone levels, etc., etc. This is normal. Just keep going, Rhys, and don't try to put meaning into every gain or loss (you don't gain muscle OR lose fat overnight!)
You are probably hodling more water (every 1g of CHO holds 3g of water with it), which would cause this feeling. That, or you ate a lot more food and are simply feeling the weight of the food. Could also be some bloating making you feel like this. Could be many things. But hey, it's a start; you should see a difference in about a week, I would say.
Well, that's good :)...Wholegrain pastas would be best. Pastas made from wholewheat are better than those made from white wheat (or even a combinatin is better than just white wheat pasta)...But, you are young and need the calories, so it shouldn't matter TOO much which variety you use.
Not necessarily. Depends on the exercise. But as you get fitter, and you will find things a little more 'effortless' on your lungs, and should be able to train harder.
Well, won't be the chalk and foam; that won't get into your lungs unless you are breathing them in like a line (and if you were, it would congest them more than anything). With training/exercise, your breathing capacity increases, because you get increased capillarization; which means that you can get more oxygen to the lungs and tissues. Does that help?
Hiya, Rhys; I could ask the same of you! :)...Things are good. Training is always hard, but happy punishment :D Back at study (not long to go, yay!) Lots of new, LOL...How have YOU been?
I did Rippetoe's and made sure I always had some food in me throughout the entire day.. I didn't really count my calories or macros to be honest, I just made sure I was always full. I'll PM you what my diet kinda looked like
here's a link to Rippetoe's if you don't know what it is: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/ showthread.php?t=998224
