When I Started:
Sep, 2002
How I Started:
I actually started when I was about 15 at Gold's Gym back in Maryland. I wanted to improve my sprint times for swimming.
Also back when I was a lean mean 160 in the Army Reserve I talked about doing Special Forces and someone made a comment that I'd need to put on a little bit before I could even consider SFQC or Ranger School. Duly noted.
Why I Love It:
Excellent stress release, plus the physical results aren't bad either. I also love the sense of accomplishment when I see new muscle, I love to see stretch marks, I love to push myself hard, and I love that freakin' burn!
How I Stay Motivated:
It's an addiction. You start, you're not really sure what's going to happen, then you see some results. Then you want more. Muscles get bigger, fat melts away, then you want more. More strength, more size, more leanness.
When my body looks good, I feel good! I know my health is excellent and my self confidence goes up.
BB Accomplishments:
I can tear a phonebook with my bare hands!
This isn't per se "body building," but on Oct. 7 2007 I completed the Army 10-Miler in Washington, D.C. (it was 92 degrees that day).
Now I have my sites on the Bataan Memorial Death March in New Mexico...marathon through the desert, hooah!

It's not about how much weight you can lift, it it's about how how much weight you can lift correctly.
Finals week was rough. Poor eating habits, sleep deprivation, stress...all things that contribute to muscular degradation. Fortunately, I still kept up on my protein intake and did some exercises outside of gym, pushups, situps, squats, barbell curls and such. Unfortunately, I got some weird...
Cardio is something you just have to do. Helps to change up cardio too, running, bike, cross trainer, treadmill, etc. Have you ever tried take a powerbar(1/2) about half hour before a pt test, great energy booster!
Ouch, the run was always my worst event as well. To goto PLDC I had to drop over two minute off my run. I ran(easy run, jog) every morning and every night. Also throwing some sprints in helps too. If you get shin-splints like me ... ICeeHot before your PT test run.
Last night I added 10 pounds to my bench (145 lbs). I do 12 sets 8 reps, close, regular, wide-arm (mini-sets, 1 min rest). 12 sets each on the incline, flat, decline bench, butterfly machine. This goes with all my workouts, at first it seems to easy, til you reach sets 9-10. Helps build serious endurance which is great for APFT!
I had a tattoo guy try to get me to learn how to tattoo, but with the army and didn't have the time or money. He made point that really made sense ... How can you put a price on a piece artwork that will be on your body for the rest of your life ... I don't think the your really looking for the cheapest in that department!
Thanks. Believe it or not, I just got back from LDAC (3rd RGT), and may have met some of your buddies over there at Ft. Lewis. Good luck with you too, I know how long it sometimes seems between practicing OPORDs and getting those gold bars pinned. And I'm sure all the training will make Ranger school that much easier.
Workouts are going great! I've cycled off of everything for the past 3 weeks and I'll start back with the Nitros and Speed at the end of this month. At the beginning of September I'll add the Methyl and HG. This will be my 2d cycle so we'll see what happens. Good luck.
Awesome career choice. Stay focused on one thing: Your JOB right now is to be a student, and successfully complete college and earn the degree that the Army is paying for.
I am sure there are many other advantages but I did not understand many of the scientific mumbo jumbo either. I do know that it does give me sustained energy and power for lifts. I have not seen any weight loss from it. One wierd effect is my face gets hot for about 20 minutes after it kicks in. I figured that was the blood rush from the NO
