I usually do my reps in the 8 - 10 range with the exemption of X-reps, for a total of 2 sets. I feel this is a safe and non-injurious way of working out while still making progress.

How long do you rest between sets on average? Why?
I rest for a minute between sets. That way I get a bit of conditioning in with my resistance training.
