I worked out during high school for athletics and always enjoyed it. During my undergraduate work I really slacked off and let my body go. I was easily 195 lbs and wasn't working out. After starting my Masters, I decided to get back in the gym to take my mind off of some situations that had been bothering me. Being back in the gym reminded me of how much I enjoy being in shape!
Why I Love It:
It's a great stress reliever. It gives me something else to focus on besides my musical career.
How I Stay Motivated:
I like to see my progress when I look in the mirror.
BB Accomplishments:

*Bulking*
195lbs, 7.7% BF : 10/27
205lbs, 8.8% BF : 11/20
Next Goal: 215lbs, 9.5% BF
Current Stack: Multi-V/Fish Oil/MyoFusion/Matrix 5.0/GABA/Creatine Mono/Homemade Pre-WO/Food/Sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep
Doin WORK! Puttin on mass until I can't put any more on! Aiming for 220 lbs before I start to cut again.
Goal (Long):
When I was young, I got picked on...a lot. I was taller than all of the other kids, but I was scrawny and had no muscle. When high school came around, I was very athletic and gained some muscle, weighing 195 lbs at the height of my lifting/soccer/track career. During undergrad, however, I let it all go. I rarely lifted, maybe a month here and there, and learned how to party like a rockstar. I was still a thin guy, but I wasn't in the shape that I wanted to be in. After I got to Nebraska for grad school, I started lifting again and couldn't believe how great I felt about myself! Lifting is a huge part of who I am now and I'm glad I've found such a great way to use my time.
Right now my goals for the coming months are:
Aug-Dec: Bulk up to 200 lbs while keeping under 15% BF
Dec: 3 week cut/1 week maintain
Jan-Mar: Bulk to 200+
Apr-June: Contest Prep
July: 2010 NANBF The Max Classic (Norfolk, NE)
Aug: Maintain/Mini-Bulk & Cut
Sept: 2010 IBA Mr. USA Competition (Sleepyeye, MN)
His physique is absolutely amazing and he's so determined to accomplish all of his goals. Nothing stands in his way. That motivates me to take on more of his mentality and stop at nothing until I reach MY goals.
Thanks for your comment in my thread. I see that you have added some crazy weight, did the 'homemade gainers' post-workout help you in that process, and if yes, to what extent? And how do you prepare them?
You made your own pre workout? im interested as to what you used..
my stack (keep in mind im bulk)
on pro complex gainer
on whey iso
animal pak
glutamine and creatine.
fish oils...

Yo!
Well, I appreciate the encouragement, man. Maybe I've been needing a kick in the pants. And maybe it's time to let up on the cuts and go for some winter mass. Lord knows I love to eat.
I'm taking in between 250 and 280 grams of protein right now. Started adding in more carbs too (mostly in the form of cheat days). But I feel the muscle mass dwindling. Time to take some photos. I'll post late this week too.
Cheers!

Hey, man.
Woo hoo! Good for you, dude. Wow, you sure massed up quickly. I just looked at your bodyweight chart. You zoomed up quick! No new pics?
I haven't weighed for about a month now but I need to. Can only estimate I'm at about 185. I've been upping the carbs to try to get more weight and muscle mass on. It sucks having to say bye-bye to the cuts ;-]
Anyway, you've definitely raised the bar, though. I'll be catching up soon.
Cheers!
