I worked out during high school for athletics and always enjoyed it. During my undergraduate work I really slacked off and let my body go. I was easily 195 lbs and wasn't working out. After starting my Masters, I decided to get back in the gym to take my mind off of some situations that had been bothering me. Being back in the gym reminded me of how much I enjoy being in shape!
Why I Love It:
It's a great stress reliever. It gives me something else to focus on besides my musical career.
How I Stay Motivated:
I like to see my progress when I look in the mirror.
BB Accomplishments:

red_cat changed Overall Goal: "Doin WORK! Time to put on some serious lean mass. Racing to 200 lbs with Villain_Chien while trying to stay under 15% BF.." - 2:27 pm - Comment
Around a full month of what I THOUGHT was a proper bulk diet and supplementation. I was still really thin and scrawny. Skinny fat for sure.
Me at my heaviest back in May and approaching that weight again in October. Noticeable difference in size and definition. Abs actually show through now.
Doin WORK! Time to put on some serious lean mass. Racing to 200 lbs with Villain_Chien while trying to stay under 15% BF.
Goal (Long):
When I was young, I got picked on...a lot. I was taller than all of the other kids, but I was scrawny and had no muscle. When high school came around, I was very athletic and gained some muscle, weighing 195 lbs at the height of my lifting/soccer/track career. During undergrad, however, I let it all go. I rarely lifted, maybe a month here and there, and learned how to party like a rockstar. I was still a thin guy, but I wasn't in the shape that I wanted to be in. After I got to Nebraska for grad school, I started lifting again and couldn't believe how great I felt about myself! Lifting is a huge part of who I am now and I'm glad I've found such a great way to use my time.
Right now my goals for the coming months are:
Aug-Dec: Bulk up to 200 lbs while keeping under 15% BF
Dec: 3 week cut/1 week maintain
Jan-Mar: Bulk to 200+
Apr-June: Contest Prep
July: 2010 NANBF The Max Classic (Norfolk, NE)
Aug: Maintain/Mini-Bulk & Cut
Sept: 2010 IBA Mr. USA Competition (Sleepyeye, MN)
Nick is SUCH a nice guy and one hell of an inspiration. The transformation he made is enough to inspire me. Add his physique and it's the total package!
hey. I hate when people say that or things like that. But use it! as fuel to prove to yourself you can, and them wrong! And I meant what I said! It is there. does NOT mean you not have to work for it. But it IS THERE.

and you too keep touch.
Sounds like a plan!:) I was just looking through your progress pics.... AWESOME! You have made some great strides in a short time. I wouldnt worry about getting to a certain number for bodyweight though... let the mirror and your strength be the guide. It will be great to see you hitting the contest with full force next summer!:)
