When I Started:
Sep, 1989
How I Started:
I began lifting light my first year in high school as a swimmer. Right after high school became a mom within a year, and was constantly on the move and working out with my then husband. Started working as a drywaller as well which was a very physical job for the upper body and cardio (sanding). Now have a wonderful husband who is my workout partner and support...he and I have been working outt ogether for the last seven years.
Why I Love It:
I love bodybuilding/working out because I was close to 200 pounds three years ago, and have lost 50 pounds in my journey to competitions. I love the nutrition, teaching my family good food values etc. I have really loved watching the transformation of my and my husbands body through the process.
How I Stay Motivated:
My children and my husband. They keep me going, and push me. Plus, I do not want to get back to where I was - I have made too many strides forward to go back.
BB Accomplishments:
Went from 24% bodyfat to 13% bodyfat in 26 weeks. Got on stage for the first time August 12th, and placed 2nd.

Training hard, and eating clean are a continual goal...currently getting started with my training for the next comeptition...although we are always training...this is more focused now on cutting and getting more of my definition back. Will re-evaluate where I am with my trainer in six weeks time. Main goal is to have legs come in better than last year with a fuller upper body look.
Kevin is motivating, kind hearted, a fellow caring Capricorn. Kevin is always there to talk to when I am having a hard time with diet, and workouts. Kevin is my good friend. I love you Kevin! Thank you for all you do for me.
You are a true inspiration and friend...thank you for all your kind words of encouragement, and support no matter what my decisions are. I really appreciate you being a huge part of our show, and thank you from the bottom of my heart for being such a great friend.
How has bodybuilding and fitness helped and/or changed your family life?
Helps us to keep a more regimented schedule, but we like to ride Harleys in the summer, and sometimes the desire to ride in the warm weather is hard to beat out with going to the gym. We just are making the gym workout a priority BEFORE we go riding.Helps us to keep a more regimented schedule, but we like to ride Harleys in the summer, and sometimes the desire to ride in the warm weather is hard to beat out with going to the gym. Are you a parent?
Yes
How has bodybuilding and fitness helped you to be a better parent?
More structured and helps with the follow-through which is tough especially with the kids being 13 and 14 now...amazing creations teenagers are.

How has bodybuilding and fitness helped you in your career?
Again, more structure and definite follow through with everything and accountability
Ok, so I am going to throw the stinkin' scale out the window after all. Have stayed the same since Saturday. Not sure if it is because it is my week where i take all of the brown iron pills or what...but I am not droping. Going to make me scream. I feel great though - we just started a new 6...
Wow Teresa, what a great compliment... Really means something coming from you:). I remember seeing you in the posing class and knowing you were the champ, gave me inspiration that I could someday accomplish what you have. I'm damn sure trying and with people like you around, it's easy:). Thanks again!
Teresa it's an honor to be your friend!!! Your kind heart and support has made my journey into bodybuilding a wonderful experience! Your cheers and words of encouragement give ME strength! "THANK YOU!"
Dropping a line or two to see how your training is coming and to also ensure that you are as focused as ever. Have a awesome weekend and keep up on all your motivation to others. God Bless!
Ditto Ronin... thnx for the inspiration. I have children myself and am finally able (physically and mentally) to bust through my hangups and start kickin a$$ LoL.
Darn!! Would loved to have seen you on stage! I guess we will have to wait until next year to see you take all of the trophys:) You can vote (for me, ha) at simplyshredded.com and it is in the best of bodyspace 09 over 40 on the front page. Thanks, see you soon!!
Hi T!! Need your help, I am a candidate for the best bodyspace over 40 on simplyshredded.com and would appreciate your vote! Hope your prep is coming along just as planned:)
Hey Teresa, it's so good to hear from you:) Keep the faith as you are forging ahead on your workouts! No matter what you can't fail. It's the journey along the way that we grow from. Have fun and enjoy where you are! Your passion and drive is what makes you so strong and competitive. Hope to see you soon!
Darn, we would have stayed if we knew you guys were coming. We left after prejudging, it was a busy weekend but we had a blast! Ironman is at the Snoqualmie casino this year... You in?? Keep training hard :)
Yeah, I'm doing the show here on base, June 6th... As far as the August show, I'm not sure yet... Depends on how I feel... (This will have been a 20 week prep...) I may take a year off, and grow, so I can make a serious run, next year...
Hi Teresa!! Great to hear you are throwing your hat back in the ring!! Keep us updated on your progress and throw some pics in for extra motivation to keep on track:). We are likely both doing the Ironman, Maybe K+D show, we are just getting back from vacation though (not so good for dieting). Maybe a couple more along the way depending on how we look. Hope to see you at the EC!!
Hey there Teresa,
How ya been? Ronda and I are doing pretty well and yes, we both plan on competing in the show. I am glad to hear your throwing your hat back in. Are you guys going to make it to the EC to watch Kevin? We are going to be there both Friday and Saturday (Julie Barnett is doing Figure on Fri). Stay tough and we'll see you soon. Mark
