When I Started:
Jan, 2007
How I Started:
7th Grade with my father at the local YMCA because I was tired of being the pudgy kid. Unfortunately, I still am that pudgy kid. For a year I've been hitting the weights hard and have made great strides but I still have a long way to go.
Why I Love It:
Making progress, being intense, the burn, watching the changes, feeling powerful, and just slaying the weights in general.
My metabolic index as of 5/20/08 is 15.95 (ideal is 22-32). I want to get it to 22 in 30 days. That will require either keeping my weight at 214 and getting to 13% bf (requires adding 11#s of LBM and losing 11#s of BF) or getting my weight to 199 at 12% bf (adding 0#s of LBM and losing 15#s of body fat). Most likely I will just 15#s of body fat.
Weight Goal:
I want to LOSE 15 lb
Bodyfat Goal:
12%

I've been very pleased with how I'm progressing while using DoggCrapp training. My lifts really suffered after my last diet excursion (strength peaked on February 11, 2008), but I've finally got my weights up higher than ever. Here's how bench has progressed. 2/11/08 is strength peak, 6/23/08...
How long had you been lifting before starting AD? I'm beginning to wonder, if people weren't lifting regularly before trying it, if THAT'S why they think they get stronger than they would have on another diet. Or, if people started AD from having a totally crappy diet if that's why they feel they perform better.
I did do the 12 days with <30 g of carbs before my first carb up. On carb up days, I'm getting between 200 and 250g of carbs for the last couple of weeks (I weigh 125 lbs or so).
I've been doing my workouts starting the first day of my carb up through 2 days after. Most of my big lifts have gone down by 20 lbs...and the number of reps I can do with each set decrease every set. It sux.
So far, I don't really feel like it's done anything for me...I've gotten a lot weaker and have lost endurance (even for heavy lifting with longer rests). But I read some people feel that way until their 5th to 8th week...and the book says that it really takes 3-4 months to totally convert so, I'm still trying to give it a good run so long as I don't get any weaker.
Slow and steady does win...every time. The body does NOTHING quickly.
I don't get it. I am breaking out something fearce on my chest and back. Thought maybe it was because of the test increase from the diet.
I wouldn't sweat it. Most people will say judge yourself by the mirror and don't weigh yourself everday becuase it will go up and down daily because of water, waste etc.. But weekly you should see a change. Good Luck!
Ahh.. FSU campus no less. Just saw you live where I live so I definitely understand what you are going through. Nothing like your clothes sticking to you while walking to class. October. Waiting for late October. Gets cool then. =)
